Brooks Ellis: Waived with left squad tag
Ellis (concussion) was waived with a "left squad" designation Tuesday, Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com reports.
When he clears waivers, he'll revert to the Reserve/Left Squad list, which means he won't be able to suit up or practice for another NFL team for the rest of the season. This designation is reserved for players who leave their teams without permission after reporting to camp.

Jaguars' Brooks Ellis: Sitting with concussion
Ellis did not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Saints due to a concussion, Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com reports.
Ellis is most likely to crack the Jaguars' 53-man roster if he can carve out a role on special teams, but he'll have to clear the concussion protocol before fully returning to practice.
