Chiefs' Chris Jones: Officially past stinger
Jones (shoulder) wasn't listed on the Chiefs' injury report Monday ahead of Thursday's regular-season opener against the Ravens, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Jones returned to practice last week and appeared to be on track to play in Thursday's regular-season opener, but Kansas City's injury report Monday made it official. With Jones back at full health heading into 2024, he's expected to remain one of the most dominant interior pass rushers in the NFL.

Chiefs' Chris Jones: Likely ready to roll for Week 1
Jones (shoulder) returned to practice last week and was a participant again Sunday, and he appears to be in line to play in Thursday's season opener versus Baltimore, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Jones suffered a shoulder stinger in early August and didn't play in any of Kansas City's preseason contests, but his ability to practice of late suggests that the veteran pass rusher isn't at much risk of sitting out Week 1. An official update on Jones' status will come when Kansas City's initial injury report is released Monday.

Chiefs' Chris Jones: Nursing shoulder injury
Jones (shoulder) did not practice Tuesday, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Jones appears to be dealing with a stinger picked up during Monday's practice. The star defensive tackle re-signed with a massive five-year contract with Kansas City earlier this offseason, and the team now figures to take a cautious approach to his recovery. Jones could well be held out of preseason action entirely if the team has any concerns about his shoulder, with an eye toward him being fully ready to take on the Ravens in Week 1 on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Chiefs' Chris Jones: Returns to camp
Jones (groin) was spotted participating in Wednesday's practice, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Jones has been nursing a groin injury over the last couple of days, but it now appears as if he's moved past the issue. The 2023 first-team All-Pro racked up 30 total tackles, including 10.5 sacks, while also defending four passes last year, and he's expected to remain one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL this coming season.

Chiefs' Chris Jones: Dealing with groin strain
Jones was held out of practice Sunday due to a strained groin, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
The severity of Jones' groin strain isn't clear, but it seems likely that he'll be kept off the practice field until he's fully healed. The veteran pass rusher signed a five-year contract to remain in KC in March after posting 10.5 sacks among his 30 tackles over 16 regular-season contests last year. Aside from the one game he sat out in 2023 due to a contract holdout, Jones hasn't missed a contest over the past two campaigns.
