  • Keith Wenning: Released by Bills

Wenning, signed last week while two of the Bills' quarterbacks had concussion, was released by the team Saturday, Mike Rodak of ESPN reports.

Wenning's chances of winning a role on the final roster were slim, so this decision is unsurprising. He was fourth on the team's depth chart, so he would have really needed to make an impression last week to earn a role with the team. The 26-year-old will either land on the team's practice squad or be forced to look elsewhere for a new opportunity.

  • Bills' Keith Wenning: Signs with Buffalo

Wenning signed a contract with the Bills on Monday, Chris Brown of the team's official site reports.

The Bills are in desperate need of help at QB with both Tyrod Taylor and T.J. Yates under concussion protocol. Wenning, a 2014 sixth-round pick by the Ravens, will help fill the void.

  • Keith Wenning: Released by Giants

Wenning was released by the Giants on Monday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports.

Wenning's release comes on the heels of the Giants drafting quarterback Davis Webb in the third round. Now a free agent, Wenning will look to catch on as a reserve quarterback elsewhere.

  • Bengals' Keith Wenning: Continues to back up McCarron

With Andy Dalton still out, Wenning continues to serve as AJ McCarron's backup as Sunday's regular season finale against the Ravens approaches.

Wenning, who was promoted to the Bengals' active roster on Dec. 16, is thus a McCarron (left wrist) injury setback away from seeing his first NFL regular season action. Whether he remains the team's backup QB once the postseason begins hinges on the status of Dalton, who is slated to have his balky right thumb examined Monday.
