Panthers' Nick Scott: Remaining in Carolina
Scott is set to sign a one-year contract with the Panthers, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Scott started all 17 regular-season games for Carolina last year, recording a career-best 111 tackles along with three defensed passes (including an interception). He also played every defensive snap during the team's wild-card loss to the Rams and racked up nine stops. Scott should reprise his starting role at safety alongside Tre'von Moehrig in 2026.

Scott was the Panthers' leading tackler in the disappointing loss. The veteran safety has been quite productive of late, tallying at least eight tackles in each of his past four games. Scott's 10 stops Sunday pushed his season tally to 85 through 14 contests, putting him one shy of his career-best regular-season mark of 86, which he set in 2022 with the Rams.

Panthers' Nick Scott: Returning to Carolina
Scott and the Panthers have agreed upon a one-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Scott struggled in his first season with Carolina after signing a one-year deal last March, logging 30 tackles -- his fewest since 2020 -- and two defensed passes over 10 games. Part of the reason for his reduced numbers was injuries, as the Penn State product dealt with multiple issues that collectively caused him to miss seven games. Scott made four starts early in the campaign for the Panthers last year, but he finished the campaign playing exclusively on special teams. With Carolina's signing of Tre'von Moehrig in early March, Scott figures to serve as depth at safety this season while reprising his role as a core special-teamer.
