Nelson (knee) has cleared waivers and landed on the Raiders' Physically Unable to Perform-Reserve list, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. • Nick Nelson: Let go by Las Vegas

The Raiders waived Nelson (knee) with a failed physical designation on Monday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. The move to waive Nelson opens up a spot for fellow cornerback Prince Amukamara on the 90-man roster. The 2018 fourth-round pick appeared in two games as a special-teams contributor with the Raiders last season before sustaining a knee injury. When healthy, Nelson will look to latch on in a depth capacity with another club.

  • Raiders' Nick Nelson: Will play Sunday

Nelson (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Matt Schneidman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Nelson was listed as questionable after being added to the injury report Friday with the undisclosed illness. The rookie fourth-round pick should see his usual role as a depth cornerback for the Raiders.

  • Raiders' Nick Nelson: Questionable for Week 3

The Raiders have listed Nelson (hamstring) as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins. Nelson saw his practice time reduced as the week progressed, as he must have done something to tweak his hamstring. He was still able to work in limited fashion, so he is looking like a true game-time decision. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie would likely see an increase in snaps providing depth at cornerback should Nelson ultimately be unable to suit up.
