Broncos' Danny Mason: Inks deal with Denver
Mason signed with the Broncos on Saturday, Jon Heath of USA Today reports.
Mason's deal comes just days after it was reported Shane Ray would miss roughly 6-8 weeks with a wrist injury. Although Mason is expected to pick up some of the slack in the meantime, there's no guarantee the former indoor football standout will make the final roster. Mason has dealt with a fair share of ailments during his football career and found himself on the outside looking in after injuring his knee with the Bears in 2016. If he stays healthy, the 26-year-old will likely have a fair shot to earn a roster spot come September.

Bears' Danny Mason: Concludes 2016 season on IR
Mason (knee) was placed on injured reserve during the 2016 season.
Mason hurt his knee during the Bears' preseason finale and was waived/injured shortly thereafter. After clearing waivers, he reverted to the Bears' injured reserve list and stayed there for the entirety of the regular season. It isn't clear if his knee is still an issue, but Mason will need to prove his health in order to land a deal with another team in advance of the 2017 campaign considering his contract with the Bears expired at the end of the season.

Bears' Danny Mason: Leaves Thursday's game
Mason left Thursday's game after sustaining a knee injury, his return is questionable.
It's unclear how severe Mason's knee injury is, but given that he wasn't immediately ruled out of returning it likely isn't very serious.
