The Commanders signed Jefferson to the active roster Wednesday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.
Jefferson has played in one regular-season game for the Commanders this season. The wide receiver logged three offensive snaps and 13 special-teams snaps in the team's Week 5 tie with the Giants. Jefferson moves to the active roster as No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin (knee) shifts to injured reserve.

The Commanders reverted Jefferson to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Jefferson was elevated for the first time this season ahead of Sunday's Week 5 tie with the Giants. He logged three snaps on offense without drawing a target or touch while adding 13 snaps on special teams. Jefferson (forearm) is signing with the Commanders, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
Jefferson finished the 2025 regular season with the Titans on injured reserve due to a forearm injury, but he looks to have recovered. Prior to that injury, the six-year NFL veteran recorded 350 receiving yards in 16 games. Jefferson had 802 regular-season receiving yards back in 2021 with the Rams but hasn't topped 369 in any of his other five campaigns, which suggests he's likely ticketed for a depth role in Washington.

The Titans placed Jefferson (forearm) on injured reserve Saturday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Jefferson was already ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jaguars, and his placement on injured reserve is a procedural move to open space on the Titans' 53-man roster for the return of Bryce Oliver (knee) from IR.
