Buccaneers' Chase Lucas: Entering camp on PUP list
Lucas (undisclosed) will begin training camp on the Buccaneers' active/PUP list, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
The exact nature of Lucas' injury is unclear at this point, and there's no timetable for his return to practice. As long as he remains unavailable, it could mean extra chances for Kemon Hall to try to make an impression as a depth option in the secondary.

Buccaneers' Chase Lucas: Joins Bucs defense
The Buccaneers have agreed to terms with Lucas on a one-year deal, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
After appearing in 15 regular-season games for the 49ers in 2025, Lucas hit the open market this offseason once he didn't receive a contract tender as a restricted free agent. Since entering the NFL as a 2022 seventh-rounder (by the Lions), Lucas has made most of his mark as a special teamer, a trend that figures to remain the case for the depth cornerback in Tampa Bay.

49ers' Chase Lucas: Headed to San Francisco
The 49ers signed Lucas to a one-year deal Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
The 2022 seventh-round pick spent the first two seasons of his career with the Lions, but he's now found a new home in San Francisco. Lucas primarily served as a member of the special-teams units in Detroit, playing a total of 311 snaps (305 on special teams) and recording four tackles across the last two years. He's expected to compete for a similar role in San Francisco this offseason.

Lucas injured his hamstring back in December and ended up spending the remainder of the 2022 campaign on injured reserve, but he now seems to be healthy. Lucas, who's missed each of Detroit's last four contests while on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue, had his 21-day elevation window opened following his return to Wednesday's practice. Unless both the Lions and Seahawks win their respective matchups this weekend, the Week 18 contest versus Green Bay would be the rookie's last chance to suit up this year.
