Chargers' Troy Dye: Active for Week 15
Dye (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Dye was working through a hip issue during Week 15 prep, but he's been cleared to play Sunday after going through pregame warmups. The sixth-year linebacker has 51 tackles (24 solo), including 1.0 sacks, two pass defenses, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery through 12 regular-season games.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Questionable for Week 15
Dye (hip) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Chiefs, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.
The veteran linebacker from Oregon opened the Chargers' week of practice with consecutive DNPs, but following Friday's limited session, he's got a chance to play Sunday. Dye has appeared in 12 games for Los Angeles this season, recording 51 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and two passes defensed. If he's sidelined in Week 15, Del'Shawn Phillips would likely operate as the Chargers' top reserve inside linebacker.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Just one tackle Thursday
Dye recorded one tackle during Thursday's 37-10 win versus the Vikings.
Dye was a tackling machine during fellow linebacker Denzel Perryman's five-game absence with an ankle injury, but Dye played only 24 of the Chargers' 49 defensive snaps in Week 8, signaling his role may have shrunk with Perryman's return. He's probably not a strong IDP consideration in most leagues for a Week 9 matchup at Tennessee.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Cleared to play TNF
Dye (thumb) is active for Thursday night's game against the Vikings, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.
Dye was unable to play against the Colts in Week 7 due to a thumb injury, but the 2020 fourth-rounder has been cleared to play Thursday after logging three consecutive practice sessions. Dye's return gives the Chargers additional depth at inside linebacker alongside Marlowe Wax and behind starters Daiyan Henley and Denzel Perryman.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Listed as questionable for TNF
Dye (thumb) is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Vikings.
Dye logged his third consecutive limited practice session of Week 8 on Wednesday, and he had been unable to practice in any capacity prior to being ruled out for Los Angeles' loss to the Colts in Week 7. That bodes well for his odds of being cleared to suit up Thursday, though the final word on Dye's status may not arrive until 90 minutes prior to the game's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Limited in practice Tuesday
Dye (thumb) was a limited participant in practice Tuesday.
Dye missed this past Sunday's loss to the Colts due to a thumb issue after being unable to practice all last week. It's promising that he was deemed limited on Monday's practice estimation this week and was then able to practice in a limited fashion Tuesday, though his status is still uncertain for Thursday's matchup against Minnesota. If Dye is able to play against the Vikings, he'll likely be used in a rotational role now that Denzel Perryman is back in action.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Estimated as limited Monday
Dye (thumb) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's estimated practice report.
Dye was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Colts after not practicing at all last week. It was his first missed contest of the season. With Dye out against Indianapolis, Daiyan Henley and Denzel Perryman handled the bulk of the linebacker snaps for Los Angeles.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Won't play vs. Indianapolis
Dye (thumb) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Dye was unable to practice all week due to a thumb injury, which is severe enough for him to miss his first game of the season. Dye has started in each of the Chargers' last five games, but the team will get a much-needed boost at inside linebacker with the return of veteran Denzel Perryman.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Questionable to play Week 7
Dye (thumb) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.
Despite not practicing all week due to a thumb injury, Dye still has a chance at suiting up for Sunday's home contest. If Dye ends up being ruled out, Marlowe Wax and Del'Shawn Phillips -- both of whom have been primarily used on special teams -- would be candidates to see more snaps at inside linebacker alongside Daiyan Henley.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Sidelined by thumb issue
Dye (thumb) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Dye logged a fairly typical 68 percent of defensive snaps in Sunday's win over Miami, so it's unclear when the injury occurred. The severity of the issue is unclear, but his participation in practice the rest of the week should make his status for Week 7 against the Colts clearer.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Logs six stops Sunday
Dye totaled six tackles (five solo) in the Chargers' win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
Dye finished second on the team in tackles behind Daiyan Henley's seven (three solo) during the victory. The 29-year-old is off to a strong start this season and is currently on pace to surpass his career-high 57 tackles (34 solo) set in 2024.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Double-digit stops in loss
Dye recorded 11 total tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 27-10 loss to Washington.
Dye led the team in takedowns in Week 5, reaching double-digit tackles for the second straight week, while the seven solo stops were a season high. Through five contests this year, the linebacker has now compiled 36 total tackles (15 solo), including 1.0 sacks.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Steps up against Giants
Dye recorded 13 tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Giants.
Dye has been filling in for the injured Denzel Perryman (ankle) as the primary inside linebacker opposite Daiyan Henley. Dye had been underwhelming in the role, managing only 11 combined stops in the first three games of the season. That changed in Sunday's loss, and he should be in for a heavy snap count once again in Week 5 against Washington.

Chargers' Troy Dye: Five tackles in victory
Dye recorded five total tackles (three solo) in Friday's 27-21 win over the Chiefs.
Dye was on the field for a little over half of the team's defensive snaps, playing 33 of a possible 61 snaps with the unit. The linebacker ranked third on the team in tackles, and with Denzel Perryman (ankle) uncertain ahead of Week 2, Dye could step into a more prominent role against Las Vegas on Sept. 15.
