  • Dezmon Patmon: Loses practice squad spot

Carolina cut Patmon from the practice squad Tuesday, Augusta Stone of the Panthers' official site reports. Patmon inked with the Panthers' practice squad early September, but he will now need to search for a similar reserve role elsewhere in the league. In his one appearance with the Colts last season, Patmon secured two of six targets for 24 yards.

  • Dezmon Patmon: Joins Panthers' practice squad

Carolina signed Patmon to its practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. A little over a week after being let go from Buffalo's practice squad, Patmon has already found another opportunity with a different organization. On a team with some other unproven options on its active roster at wide receiver, it wouldn't be surprising to see the athletic youngster called on to contribute at some point in the campaign.

  • Bills' Dezmon Patmon: Sticking with Buffalo

Patmon signed a reserve/future contract with the Bills on Monday, Chris Brown of the team's official site reports. Patmon spent the first three seasons of his career on Indianapolis' active roster before he was waived Oct. 4. The 24-year-old then spent the rest of the campaign on the Colts' practice squad, but he became a free agent at the end of the regular season and joined up with Buffalo's practice squad Tuesday. While he did not see any action in Sunday's divisional-round loss to Cincinnati, Patmon will continue working with the Bills heading into the offseason.

  • Dezmon Patmon: Joins Buffalo's practice squad

The Bills signed Patmon to their practice squad Tuesday. Patmon opened the season on the Colts' 53-man roster, but he was later let go and landed a practice-squad deal with Indianapolis. However, he wasn't offered a reserve/future contract by the Colts and became a free agent recently, allowing the Bills to sign him to their practice squad. Buffalo also signed Cortez Broughton to the practice squad and cut Tanner Gentry and Joe Giles-Harris.

  • Dezmon Patmon: Returns to practice squad

Patmon reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Patmon suited up Sunday against the Titans, but he failed to take the field for any snaps. He'll try to earn another elevation to the active roster when the Colts host the Commanders on Sunday.

  • Dezmon Patmon: Staying in Indy

The Colts signed Patmon to the practice squad Wednesday. Patmon appeared in one game before being waived by the Colts on Tuesday to open up a roster spot for kicker Chase McLaughlin. The 2020 sixth-round pick recorded just two receptions over 64 offensive snaps with Indianapolis last year, and he could serve as a game-day elevation in case any of Indianapolis' wideouts go down with an injury this season.

  • Dezmon Patmon: Let go by Colts

Patmon was waived by Indianapolis on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Patmon appeared in one game for the Colts this season, which was their Week 2 contest against the Jaguars. He saw six targets, hauling in two of them for 24 yards. Patmon's exit comes as the team needed to sign Chase McLaughlin to their active roster, as he had surpassed his limit of three practice-squad elevations. If he doesn't get claimed by another team, there's a chance that he could sign with the Colts' practice squad.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Won't face Titans

Patmon (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Titans. With the Colts' receiving corps back to full strength, Patmon will be inactive for the second straight game. Mike Strachan appears to have bested Patmon for the fifth receiver role on the depth chart.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Fails to impress in increased role

Patmon had two receptions for 24 yards on six targets in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville. Patmon had a big drop on third down in the game and didn't make a strong impression. He played on 24 of the offense's 50 snaps and worked as the fourth receiver. If Michael Pittman (quadriceps) and Alec Pierce (concussion) remain sidelined due to injury, the Colts may look elsewhere for targets in the offense.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Breakout preseason game

Patmon notched five receptions, including a 50-yard touchdown catch, on six targets for 103 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to Detroit. Patmon is competing with Keke Coutee and Mike Strachan for the No. 5 receiver role. Patmon wasn't having a great training camp by many accounts, so this was a needed performance even if mostly in the second half against second- and third-string defenders. The battle for the last wide-receiver roster spots will likely be decided late in camp.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Vying for roster spot

Patmon is listed as the No. 6 wide receiver on the Colts' first unofficial depth chart of training camp, Andrew Moore of SI.com reports. While Patmon hasn't wowed at camp, he's made enough plays to be considered as a potential option for the initial 53-man roster. Last season, the 2020 sixth-round pick made eight appearances for the Colts and caught two of four targets for 21 yards and one score across 64 offensive snaps -- all career highs. It appears like he has a shot at a larger role in Year 3, but the looming return of Mike Strachan (knee) could change things quickly.

Patmon caught two of his four targets for 21 yards and one touchdown across eight appearances during the 2021 campaign. Patmon was on the active roster for an eight-game stretch from Weeks 9 through 17. The 2020 sixth-round pick played double-digit snaps twice but never recorded more than one target in any contest. His lone touchdown came on a 14-yard catch against the Cardinals in Week 16. The second-year pro will be under his rookie contract through the 2023 season, but it remains to be seen if his role will expand next year.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Loses role

Patmon (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Patmon has been active for every game since Week 9, though he'll be relegated due to the return of Parris Campbell (foot). Even when active, Patmon played a limited role by commanding only four targets across eight contests this season.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Reinstated from IR

Patmon (foot) was activated from injured reserve Thursday. Patmon resumed practicing in late October, and he'll be able to suit up for the first time this year Thursday against the Jets. He's unlikely to have a significant fantasy role after he played just two offensive snaps during his rookie season.

Patmon had two receptions for 64 yards in Friday's preseason win at Detroit, but he left the game early with a foot injury, ESPN 107.5 FM Indianapolis reports. • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Sitting out opener

Patmon (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. The sixth-round rookie out of Washington State did enough in training camp to secure his spot on the Colts' 53-man roster, but the coaching staff apparently didn't view him as being ready to handle a role on offense or special teams. The Colts will keep Michael Pittman and Ashton Dulin active as backups behind the starting receiver trio of T.Y. Hilton, Parris Campbell and Zach Pascal.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Makes 53-man roster

Patmon has made Indy's final 53-man roster, The Athletic reports. Patmon came out of Washington State for the 2020 Draft as an unpolished receiver, but the Colts were enamored enough by his frame (6-foot-4, 228 pounds) and his senior-season production (58-762-8) that they took a flier on him in the sixth round. He had an impressive training camp and the Colts decided to keep him over two veterans (Marcus Johnson and Daurice Fountain). Patmon will have a limited reserve role initially, however.

  • Colts' Dezmon Patmon: Impressing during training camp

Patmon has increased his chances of making the Colts' 53-man roster through a solid training camp, Jim Ayello of the Indianapolis Star reports. Patmon came out of Washington State as an unpolished receiver, but the Colts were enamored enough by his frame (6-4, 228) and his senior-season production (58-762-8) that they took a flier on him in the sixth round. The knocks about his limited route tree may still be justified, but Patmon is asserting himself in training camp, showing he's dependable on jump balls and can leverage his speed (4.48-second 40) to get open. Patmon could still be on the roster bubble since there's plenty of proven talents on the team, but a strong end to camp could help him secure a spot.
