  • Jake Verity: Cut by Tampa Bay

The Buccaneers waived Verity on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Verity signed a future deal with Tampa Bay in January and had been competing with Chase McLaughlin this offseason for the Buccaneers' placekicking role. At least for now, McLaughlin has won the job, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Buccaneers brought in a different kicker to compete with him later on in the offseason. Verity has been with four different organizations since signing with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2021 campaign, but he's yet to make his NFL debut.

  • Buccaneers' Jake Verity: Inks reserve/future deal

Tampa Bay signed Verity to a reserve/future contract Wednesday. Verity, who dealt with an undisclosed injury at the beginning of August, was waived from the Jaguars' injured reserve list with a settlement in September. The kicker was brought in by the Falcons for a visit later that month, but he ultimately remained a free agent for the remainder of the campaign. With his new deal, the 25-year-old kicker will have a chance to show he's healthy and compete for a roster spot during the offseason. Verity is now with his fourth organization since signing with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2021 campaign, but he's still looking to make his NFL debut.

  • Jake Verity: Waived with injury designation

The Jaguars waived Verity (undisclosed) with an injury designation Wednesday. Verity and James McCourt both made the Jaguars' initial 53-man roster but were both waived Wednesday to make room for a wave of new additions, including former Lions kicker Riley Patterson. The extent of Verity's injury is unclear, but he'll revert to Jacksonville's injured reserve list if he clears waivers, which -- barring an injury settlement -- would end his 2022 campaign.

  • Colts' Jake Verity: Let go by Indianapolis

Verity was waived by the Colts on Thursday, Joel A. Erickson of the Indianapolis Star reports. Verity was a long shot to overtake Rodrigo Blankenship for the placekicking job and didn't make a strong impression in training camp or the preseason. He'll try to catch on elsewhere.

  • Colts' Jake Verity: Competing for roster spot

Verity (undisclosed) is participating in OTAs, but Colts head coach Frank Reich said that the starting kicker job is Rodrigo Blankenship's to lose, Kevin Hickey of USA Today reports. Verity spent the majority of last season on the Ravens' practice squad, but he ended the campaign on the injured list due to an undisclosed injury. Indianapolis signed Verity to a reserve/future contract in February and opted to let Michael Badgley test free agency, so it appeared like Verity would have a chance to win the starting gig. However, now that both kickers are healthy, it sounds like the Colts will give Blankenship some leeway as he attempts to reclaim his role after being sidelined for the majority of last year with a hip injury.
