49ers' Nick Bosa: Remains sidelined at practice
Bosa (calf) did not participate at the 49ers' practice Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Bosa was unable to practice for the second straight day to open the week as he continues to work his way back from a calf injury that has sidelined him since Week 2. The defensive lineman is all but guaranteed to miss a fifth straight game Sunday versus the Falcons, but the team expressed optimism that Bosa could return to action Nov. 8 against the Raiders, per Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com.

Bosa remains sidelined with a calf injury he suffered during the 49ers' Week 2 win over the Dolphins. Coach Kyle Shanahan hopes Bosa will practice Thursday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Shanahan's statement makes it seem like Bosa has an outside chance to play in Sunday's contest against the Falcons. If the defensive end cannot, he will have to wait until after the 49ers' Week 8 bye to return to the field.

49ers' Nick Bosa: Not yet ready to return to game action
Bosa (knee/calf) has been ruled out for Monday's Week 6 matchup against the Commanders, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Though the decision was made not to put Bosa on IR, he's now set to miss his fourth straight game. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said early this week that the veteran edge rusher could have a chance to play against Washington, but Bosa didn't end up practicing at all. While it's not out of the question that he could return Week 7 in Atlanta, it wouldn't be surprising if San Francisco opts to hold Bosa out for that contest as well given that the 49ers have a bye Week 8.

Bosa (knee/calf) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Despite having an extra day of rest between Week 5 action and the start of Week 6 prep, Bosa has yet to mix into drills since Week 2, missing the last three games in the process due to knee and calf injuries. If he isn't able to practice Friday and/or Saturday, he likely isn't a candidate to suit up Monday against the Commanders.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Bosa (calf) "has a chance" to play against the Commanders next Monday night, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports.
Bosa has missed the 49ers' last three games while tending to a calf injury. While he could return against Washington, Bosa's practice participation during Week 6 prep will ultimately determine whether he's cleared by medical staff to suit up. Mykel Williams and Romello Height will continue to get more reps at defensive end for as long as Bosa is sidelined.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Bosa (calf) won't play this coming Sunday against the Broncos, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
After Bosa strained his calf at practice last Thursday, Shanahan told Matt Barrows of The Athletic that the pass rusher would miss "a few weeks," so a second consecutive absence in Week 4 comes as no surprise. The 49ers started Ogbo Okoronkwo and Keion White at defensive end during Sunday's win versus the Cardinals and likely will continue to lean on the duo until Bosa is able to return to action.
