Charles (calf) was released from injured reserve by the Panthers with an injury settlement Thursday, Kassidy Hill of the team's official website reports.
Charles landed on injured reserve with a calf injury Wednesday, and he was set to miss the entirety of the 2026 campaign as a result. Now that the two sides have reached a settlement, the offensive lineman will have the chance to pass a physical and play with a new team this season.

Panthers' Saahdiq Charles: Lands on IR
The Panthers placed Charles (calf) on injured reserve Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Charles will now be forced to miss the entirety of the 2026 campaign unless he's waived with an injury settlement. The 27-year-old signed a one-year deal with Carolina back in January and will now shift his focus to getting healthy for the 2027 campaign.

Charles spent the 2024 season in retirement but announced his decision to return to the NFL in early March, and he'll now get a chance to compete for a depth role along the interior of Dallas' offensive line. The 2020 fourth-round pick started in 10 of his 11 regular-season appearances with the Titans back in 2023, when he last suited up for NFL action.

The 2020 fourth-round pick from LSU was in line to start for the Titans in 2024 before retiring from the NFL in early August. He's since been let go from Tennessee's reserve/retired list, making him an unrestricted free agent.
