Brown didn't make the Colts' 53-man roster but will at least remain with the team as a member of the practice squad. The 32-year-old has an extensive NFL resume, suiting up for the Browns, Texans, Patriots, Seahawks and Cardinals throughout his career and catching 74 passes for 752 yards and three touchdowns across 92 regular-season games.

Colts' Pharaoh Brown: Signs with Indianapolis
The Colts signed Brown to a contract Thursday.
Brown played in seven regular-season games for the Cardinals last season, accumulating two receptions on two targets for one yard over 59 offensive snaps and also logging 77 plays on special teams. The Colts placed fellow tight end Sean McKeon (undisclosed) on IR in a corresponding move.

Cardinals' Pharaoh Brown: Logs seven appearances in 2025
Brown reeled in both of his targets for one yard in seven regular-season appearances in 2025.
Brown spent the offseason and preseason with the Dolphins before getting released during roster cut downs in late August. He then joined the Cardinals in mid-October after TEs Tip Reiman (ankle) and Travis Vokolek (neck) landed on injured reserve. Arizona used its three elevations on him before he was signed to the active roster for good in early December, but he remained well behind Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins and Josiah Deguara in the pecking order for offensive snaps. Brown is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so it remains to be seen where he'll be plying his wares in 2026.

Brown went without a target while playing seven of the Cardinals' 57 snaps on offense in Sunday's 26-19 loss to the Falcons.
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett targeted tight ends on 17 of his 31 pass attempts Sunday, but the bulk of those looks went to Trey McBride (4-27-0 receiving line on eight targets) and Elijah Higgins (7-91-0 on eight targets). Brown and Josiah Deguara (no catches on one target), meanwhile, remained afterthoughts on offense, which is expected to remain par for the course over the final two games of the season, barring an injury to either McBride or Higgins.

Cardinals' Pharaoh Brown: Joins active roster
The Cardinals signed Brown from their practice squad to the active roster Wednesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
The 31-year-old has appeared in the Cardinals' last three games, contributing both offensively and on special teams (25 snaps on offense and 30 on special teams). Now with the active roster, Brown will likely continue playing a depth role in Arizona's tight-end room for the remainder of the season.

Brown got his third straight elevation ahead of Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay and played seven of Arizona's 61 offensive snaps along with seven snaps on special teams. He didn't get any targets, which was also the case in his first two appearances this season. Since Brown has been elevated the maximum three times, he'll need to be signed to the active roster in order to suit up again with the Cardinals during the regular season.
