Panthers' Devin Lloyd: Ruled out for Week 3
Lloyd (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns.
Lloyd was held out of practice all week due to a calf injury he likely picked up during the Panthers' 34-3 win over the Falcons in Week 2. Claudin Cherelus (shoulder) will also not play against Cleveland, leaving veteran Tyrel Dodson and rookie seventh-rounder Jackson Kuwatch as the top candidates to start alongside Bobby Okereke at inside linebacker. Lloyd's next chance to suit up is Week 4 against the Lions on Sunday, Oct. 4.

Panthers' Devin Lloyd: Misses practice again Thursday
Lloyd (calf) did not practice Thursday.
Lloyd sustained a calf injury in the 34-3 win over Atlanta in Week 2, though he still managed to tie for a game-high nine total tackles. The 27-year-old didn't seem overly concerned about his availability for Week 3 in Cleveland. However, if Lloyd isn't out there against the Browns, Jackson Kuwatch may replace him in the starting lineup.

Lloyd popped up on the injury report with a calf issue to open the week. The injury occurred during the first half of Sunday's 34-3 win over Atlanta, but the linebacker is not too concerned about it, per Joe Person of The Athletic. Lloyd will have two more chances to return to practice before the team travels to face the Browns in Week 3.

Panthers' Devin Lloyd: Fills up box score in Week 2 win
Lloyd recorded nine tackles (seven solo), including 1.0 sack, and three pass breakups, including a pair of interceptions, in Sunday's 34-3 win over the Falcons.
Additionally, Lloyd returned one of his two INTs for a 16-yard touchdown in the third quarter when he picked off undrafted rookie Jack Strand. Lloyd's first INT came against Cooper Rush on the previous Atlanta possession. Through two games, the Carolina linebacker has piled up 22 tackles (16 solo) while playing 85 percent of the defensive snaps.

Lloyd (knee) sat out of practice Wednesday, Nick Carboni of WCNC Charlotte reports.
The linebacker needed some medical attention due to soreness in his injured knee, per Carboni. Panthers coach Dave Canales told reporters that Lloyd should be ready for Carolina's regular-season opener. The former Jaguar signed a three-year, $42-million contract with the Panthers in the offseason after recording more than 100 tackles in three of his first four NFL seasons.
