Packers' Christian Watson: Set to reprise key role in Packers WR room
Watson is one of six wide receivers on the Packers' initial 53-man roster, per Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site.
Watson sits atop a wide receiver depth chart that also includes Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, Bo Melton, Skyy Moore and J. Michael Sturdivant. Savion Williams (ankle) is on IR with a designation to return, so he could be eligible to play starting in Week 5. Watson failed to exceed 620 receiving yards in any of his previous four regular seasons while being plagued by injuries, but he's expected to lead Green Bay's wide receiver room as long as he's healthy.

Packers' Christian Watson: Pair of catches in preseason win
Watson brought in two of three targets for 19 yards in the Packers' 33-13 preseason win over the Broncos on Friday.
Watson was involved right from the start of Friday's game, drawing a target on the first play from scrimmage that went incomplete and then recording a 14-yard grab on the second. The veteran receiver's other reception was a five-yard catch in the red zone later in the opening drive, and the oft-injured Watson likely will next take the field in a Week 1 road matchup against the Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Packers' Christian Watson: Cameo appearance in preseason opener
Watson failed to bring in his only target in Thursday's 28-9 preseason loss to the Steelers.
The Packers began the game with most of their offensive starters on the field, including QB Jordan Love, but they all made quick exits. Watson heads into 2026 at the top of the depth chart at wide receiver after signing a four-year, $110.5 million contract extension in June, but Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden both figure to see significant roles as well, and as in years past in Matt LaFleur's offense, who the actual top option is could change from week to week. Watson has missed time to injuries in each of his four NFL seasons, playing just 10 regular-season contests last year and hauling in 35 of 55 targets for 611 yards and six touchdowns.
