  • Seahawks' Josh Ross: Returns to practice

Ross (hand) was back in action at practice Tuesday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

Ross was able to return to the practice field for the first time since undergoing hand surgery Aug. 5. The linebacker will look to make the most of his opportunity to participate in Thursday's joint practice with the Packers before Saturday's preseason finale in Green Bay.

  • Seahawks' Josh Ross: Undergoes hand surgery

Ross underwent surgery on his injured hand Tuesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Head coach Mike Macdonald said that Ross is not expected to miss extended time and should return to practice soon. Ross signed with the team back in March and once healthy, he'll spend the remainder of the summer competing for a spot on the final roster.

  • Josh Ross: Let go by Baltimore

The Ravens cut Ross from the active roster Tuesday.

After initially failing to make the Ravens' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, Ross managed to catch on with the active roster in early September. He was limited to special teams across his seven regular-season outings with Baltimore this year, accruing five tackles (three solo) over that span. Ross will look to join a team in need of special teams help and depth at linebacker.

  • Josh Ross: Cut by Ravens

Ross was signed to the Ravens' practice squad Wednesday.

Ross was waived by the Ravens on Tuesday and went unclaimed before signing with Baltimore's practice squad one day later. The linebacker will look to impress with the practice unit in an attempt to earn a gameday elevation down the road in 2024.

  • Ravens' Josh Ross: In concussion protocol

Ross is in concussion protocol Monday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Ross's blow to the head actually wasn't sustained on the field, but rather during a car accident. He isn't a lock to make Baltimore's final 53-man roster for 2024, so he'll likely try to get back into playing shape as quickly as he can.

  • Ravens' Josh Ross: Competing for depth role

Ross (foot) is expected to compete for a depth spot at inside linebacker ahead of the coming season, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.

The Michigan product missed the final 15 games of the 2022 season with a foot injury but has since had the offseason to move past the issue. Ross had an impressive preseason for Baltimore in 2022, making the active roster as an undrafted rookie. With the additions of Roquan Smith and 2023 third-round pick Trenton Simpson at linebacker, the second-year player is slated to compete with Malik Harrison, Kristian Welch and Del'Shawn Phillips for the fourth inside linebacker spot for the Ravens.

  • Ravens' Josh Ross: Remains on IR

Ross (foot) will remain on the Ravens' injured reserve entering the playoffs, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Ross was designated for return off the IR on Dec. 20, which opened a 21-day window for him to practice with the team. However, he will not be activated ahead of the playoffs, so he will now head back to the IR and is no longer able to practice. He has not played since suffering a foot injury back in Week 2 versus Miami.

  • Ravens' Josh Ross: Has 21-day window opened

The Ravens designated Ross (foot) to return from injured reserve Tuesday.

Ross, who hasn't played since he suffered a foot injury back in Week 2 against Miami, is now in line to both practice this week and return to Baltimore's active roster sometime within the next 21 days following Tuesday's transaction. When activated, the rookie linebacker will likely serve primarily as a special-teams contributor.

  • Ravens' Josh Ross: Moved to IR

Ross (foot) was placed on the Ravens' injured reserve Monday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.

Ross landed on IR after suffering an unspecified foot injury at some point during Saturday's 42-38 loss to the Dolphins. The undrafted product out of Michigan recorded two total tackles while playing 18 special-teams snaps during each of the first two weeks of the season, but he will now be forced to sit out until at least Week 7 against Cleveland.
