Allen saw 21 fewer offensive snaps than Bhayshul Tuten and four fewer than Chris Rodriguez in Sunday's loss. The No. 3 running back could conceivably eat into Rodriguez's opportunities over the course of the season, but that still isn't likely to afford him much more opportunity.

Jaguars' LeQuint Allen: Ready for larger role?
Allen (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Denver, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Jaguars coach Liam Coen told O'Halloran on Friday morning that he "fully anticipates" a larger role for Allen, who played just one snap in the season opener against Cleveland after missing training camp and the preseason with a hip injury. Ameer Abdullah is a capable replacement on passing downs, but it sounds like Coen still prefers Allen there once he gets back to full strength. It's not a role that will involve many touches, and even the snap count could be in single digits some weeks.

Allen has seen an uptick in pass-catching opportunities during training camp, which could lead to an expanded receiving role during the regular season, Josh Shipley of SI.com reports.
