  • Packers' Trey Smack: Misses another kick Thursday

Smack converted three of four extra-point tries and didn't attempt a field goal Thursday in a 27-19 win over Carolina.

Smack's evening began poorly, as he clanged the extra-point attempt off the right upright following Green Bay's first touchdown of the game midway through the first quarter. However, the rookie kicker recovered to make his other three PATs. Still, the missed kick may have put Smack on even thinner ice, and his struggles likely contributed to Green Bay's decision to punt on a fourth-down play from the Panthers' 37-yard line while up eight points late in the fourth period rather than letting him attempt a 54-yard field goal that would have essentially iced the game. On the season, Smack has made 11 of 16 FGAs and 16 of 19 extra points.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Another rough showing in Week 7

Smack went 1-for-3 on field-goal tries and converted both of his PATs during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Lions.

Smack continued his up-and-down rookie campaign in Week 7, and he started Sunday's contest by pushing a 26-yard field-goal attempt wide right on the Packers' first possession of the game. The kicker was able to convert a 43-yard try in the fourth quarter, but he then had 35-yard try partially blocked by D.J. Wonnum with 3:25 left in regulation. Smack has now gone 6-for-11 on field-goal attempts over the last five games, and it's unclear how long the Packers would stick with him moving forward if he can't get back on track.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Bounces back vs Dallas

Smack made all three of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tires during Green Bay's win over the Cowboys on Sunday.

Smack had a solid bounce-back performance after missing two field goals and an extra point during the Week 5 win over the Bears. The 23-year-old has now made 10 of his 13 field-goal attempts and 11 of his 13 extra-point tries across the first six games of his rookie campaign.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Poor second half in Week 5 win

Smack went 1-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-3 on extra-point tries during the Packers' 31-7 win over the Bears on Sunday.

Smack missed field goals from 43 and 47 yards in the fourth quarter, which came after his extra-point try early in the third missed wide left. It was by far the worst performance of the rookie's young NFL career, but luckily for him, the Packers dominated enough offensively and defensively that his kicking miscues were a wash. Smack will have a prime opportunity to bounce back in Week 6 on Oct. 18 against the Cowboys, who give up the seventh-most points in the NFL this season (27.2).

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Converts pivotal FGA in win

Smack made his only field-goal attempt and both of his PATs during Sunday's 17-14 win over Tampa Bay.

Smack only had one opportunity to kick a field goal in Week 4, but he made the most of it. The rookie nailed a 58-yard attempt as time expired in the first half, delivering the Packers a 10-7 lead at the break. Smack's field goal would prove to be the difference in a low-scoring battle. On the year, the kicker has gone 6-for-7 on field-goal tries, including 3-for-3 from 50-plus yards, over four contests so far.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Has kick blocked

Smack went 0-for-1 on field-goal tries and 2-for-2 on extra-point attempts in Thursday's 35-14 loss to the Falcons.

The kicker's 47-yard attempt in the second quarter was blocked. It was Smack's first miss on a field-goal try this season, and it probably wasn't his fault. The rookie has, however, missed an extra point as well.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Chips in game-winning FG

Smack made both of his field-goal attempts and went 2-for-2 on extra-point tries during the Packers' 20-17 overtime win over the Jets on Sunday.

Smack's 34-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter tied things up at 17-17 before the rookie sealed the game for the Packers with a 26-yard chip shot in overtime. The rookie sixth-rounder is off to a strong start to his NFL career, having gone 5-for-5 on field-goal tries and 3-for-4 on extra-point attempts across the first two games of the regular season.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Buries 59-yarder in debut

Smack made all three of his field-goal attempts while missing one of two PATs in Sunday's 39-22 loss to the Vikings.

Smack made field goals from 59, 43 and 26 yards but fell short of a flawless night after missing an extra-point try. The sixth-round rookie had a strong debut overall with 10 total points.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Dazzles in Denver

Smack went 4-of-4 on field goals and 3-of-3 on extra points in Friday's 33-13 preseason victory over the Broncos.

Smack made all three field goals he got up -- including a 58-yarder -- in last week's exhibition opener, and the rookie remained perfect thanks to an ever better night that included makes from both 51 and 59 yards out. Packers kickers haven't been particularly fantasy-friendly in recent years, but if Smack remains true from long range he has a chance to change that.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Perfect in preseason opener

Smack made three field goals in Thursday's 28-9 preseason loss to the Steelers.

Smack -- per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel -- was a bit wayward early in training camp, but the rookie was true on all three of his attempts, including one from 58 yards away, in his first exhibition appearance. Smack was already the clear favorite to open the season as Green Bay's kicker, and Thursday's showing all but locks him in.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Packers cut other kicker

Smack is the only kicker left in camp with the Packers, as the team waived Lenny Krieg on Friday.

The Packers evidently feel comfortable handing kicking duties over to Smack. The rookie sixth-round pick impressed in college at Florida but will need to prove he's capable of handling the pressure of kicking in the NFL, as well as the cold and windy conditions that arise at Lambeau Field.

  • Packers' Trey Smack: Favorite for No. 1 spot

Smack is not set to compete with new kicker Lenny Krieg after winning the battle against freshly cut competitor Lucas Havrisik.

Krieg was likely signed to keep Smack sharp and to have an emergency option if the sixth-round rookie suffers an injury. Packers kicking options in 2025 produced 123 points over 17 regular-season games, with six total 50-plus yard attempts logged during the season. As the favorite for the starting job, Smack is set to inherit all the value associated with the Packers' offensive opportunities in 2026.
