  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Missing Week 16

Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Despite a full week of practice, Johnson will remain on injured reserve and be held out of the Buccaneers' Week 16 contest. His practice window was opened Dec. 12, giving Tampa Bay until Jan. 2 to activate him to its active roster. Expect Johnson to serve as a depth piece in the Bucs' wide receiver room when he returns from injury.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Not suiting up Week 15

Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Chargers, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Johnson landed on IR in late October. He was designated to return Thursday, but he hasn't ramped up enough to return to game action this week. Johnson will need to be activated from IR before he's able to suit up on game day again. His next chance to play will be Sunday, Dec. 22 versus Dallas.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: DNP Thursday

Johnson (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Johnson is looking to return from a one-game absence due to an ankle injury, but his absence from Thursday's practice is not a good start to the week. Still, he will have an extra day to recover, as the Buccaneers do not play until Monday against the Cardinals. The rookie pass catcher has seen the field for 38 offensive plays across four games and drawn one target.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Misses practice

Johnson (ankle) did not participate at the Buccaneers' practice Thursday, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Johnson opened the week as a limited participant at practice following an ankle injury he suffered in Week 5 versus Atlanta. The wide receiver's inability to practice Thursday is concerning, and if he isn't able to return to the field Friday, he'll likely miss Sunday's matchup with the Saints.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Ready to rock

Johnson (ankle) has no injury designation ahead of Thursday night's matchup against the Falcons, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. After logging a full practice session Wednesday, Johnson has moved past his ankle issue enough to suit up for Thursday night's divisional matchup. Expect the Barton College product to serve as a depth piece in Tampa Bay's wide receiver corps while also contributing on special teams in Week 5.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Limited on Monday's estimation

Johnson (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's practice estimation. Johnson missed Tampa Bay's Week 3 loss to the Broncos with an ankle injury, but he was able to play through the issue in Week 4, logging 28 total snaps (23 offensive and five on special teams) while failing to haul in his lone target. Unless the 22-year-old's practice participation downgrades to a DNP either Tuesday or Wednesday, he's expected to suit up Thursday night against the Falcons.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Doubtful for Week 3

Johnson (ankle) did not practice Friday and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Denver, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Johnson opened the week as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but he was a DNP Thursday and Friday, and he is not expected to play Sunday. The Bucs could call up a wide receiver from the practice squad such as Sterling Shepard, Cody Thompson or Ryan Miller in anticipation of Johnson being inactive for Week 3.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Five touches in preseason debut

Johnson brought in three of five targets for 12 yards and rushed twice for 13 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday night. The Barton College product overcame a multi-week rib injury just in time to participate in the final preseason game, and while he didn't do anything spectacular with his touches, Johnson was kept busy during his time in the game. The undrafted rookie had impressed throughout the offseason and early in training camp, so he may have a good shot at sticking on the practice squad come final cutdowns.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Could return Friday

Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Monday that Johnson (ribs) is trending towards playing during Friday's preseason matchup with the Dolphins, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. The undrafted rookie out of Barton College has been dealing with a ribs injury over the last week, and it now appears that he could return to the field Friday. Johnson has been competing for Tampa Bay's top kick- and punt-returner job since signing with the team in May, but he likely has only an outside chance of making the Buccaneers' 53-man roster.

  • Buccaneers' Kameron Johnson: Struggling with rib injury

Johnson (ribs) participated in limited fashion in Monday's practice, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. The undrafted rookie did not play in Saturday's preseason-opening win over the Bengals and is not yet able to participate in practices without restriction. Johnson had impressed teammates and coaches since arriving in May, but unless he can get on the field for at least one of the final two preseason games, it may be difficult for the Barton College product to even garner a practice-squad spot.
