  • Broncos' Levelle Bailey: Reverts to IR

Bailey (leg) reverted to the Broncos' injured-reserve list Friday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.

Bailey will now spend the entirety of the 2026 campaign on injured reserve unless he is waived with an injury settlement. The linebacker sustained a broken leg in last Friday's preseason opener, so he will likely remain on the team's injured reserve for the season instead of settling.

  • Levelle Bailey: Cut with injury designation

The Broncos waived Bailey (leg) with an injury designation Thursday, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.

Once Bailey passes through waivers, he'll revert to the Broncos' injured-reserve list. The linebacker will either spend the entirety of the 2026 campaign there or will later be cut with an injury settlement after he sustained a broken leg in Denver's preseason opener last Friday.

  • Broncos' Levelle Bailey: Breaks leg in preseason opener

Bailey broke his leg during the Broncos' 27-7 preseason win over the Falcons on Friday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Bailey was carted to the locker room after sustaining the injury and is expected to undergo surgery over the coming days. The injury may not be season-ending, but it's a blow for the Fresno State product in his battle for a spot on the Broncos' 53-man roster for the regular season. Karene Reid, Jordan Turner and Red Murdock are the Broncos' depth inside linebackers behind Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad.

Bailey exited the game in the second quarter with an ankle injury. The inside linebacker did not produce any box-score statistics before his departure.

  • Broncos' Levelle Bailey: Won't return Friday

Bailey (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday night's game against the Falcons, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Bailey exited the contest in the second quarter with an ankle injury. It is unclear how severe the issue is, but even if Bailey could have returned to the contest, the coaching staff likely would not have allowed it. It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old will be ready to play in next Friday's preseason game against the Packers.
