Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Just two targets in Week 2 loss
Strange caught both of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Broncos.
Parker Washington (12 targets) and Brian Thomas (eight) saw a combined 20 targets on Trevor Lawrence's 29 pass attempts, leaving very little opportunity for the rest of the Jaguars' pass catchers. Strange still ran 25 routes on 31 dropbacks, proving he's an every-down tight end in one of the league's premier offenses. He'll be a touchdown-dependent TE1/2 next Sunday against the Patriots.

Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Boosts line with TD in Week 1
Strange caught two of three targets for 23 yards and a touchdown Sunday in a 34-10 victory versus Cleveland.
Strange had a relatively quiet day in terms of targets and yardage, but he finished with a fine fantasy total on the strength of a 14-yard connection with Trevor Lawrence in the second quarter. Strange seems to have carried over the red-zone chemistry with Lawrence that developed late last year, when all three of his scores came over the Jaguars' final six regular-season games. The 2023 second-round draft pick logged a career-best 540 receiving yards last season and is positioned to be Jacksonville's top tight end again in 2026.

Jaguars' Brenton Strange: In line to start Week 1
Strange is the Jaguars' projected Week 1 starter at tight end following the NFL's cutdown day, John Oehser of the team's official site reports.
Strange inked a three-year extension with Jacksonville back in June, and in the wake of roster cuts, rookie second-round pick Nate Boerkircher, rookie fifth-rounder Tanner Koziol and fifth-year pro Quintin Morris are the other TEs on the roster. As a result, Strange is the likeliest member of the group, barring health concerns, to end the campaign as the leader in offensive snaps. He's also coming off a 2025 season in which he posted a 46-540-3 line on 60 targets across 12 regular-season games.

Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Idle for second preseason game
Strange did not play in the Jaguars' 34-17 preseason loss to the Panthers on Friday.
Both Strange and rookie second-rounder Nate Boerkircher observed Friday's exhibition contest in street clothes, with Tanner Koziol, Quintin Morris, Hunter Long and Patrick Herbert each logging at least 13 offensive snaps. Strange is the top tight end on the depth chart, evidenced by the three-year, $48 million extension he signed with the Jaguars in June. He's coming off a strong 2025 campaign in which he caught 46 passes (on 60 targets) for 540 yards and three touchdowns across 12 regular-season games. Strange figures to play a key role in the Jaguars' passing attack this season alongside wide receivers Brian Thomas, Parker Washington (undisclosed) and Jakobi Meyers (hand).

Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Sits out Week 1 of preseason
Strange didn't play in Saturday's 24-20 preseason win over the Saints.
Jacksonville held out key starters for its preseason opener, and Strange was among that group. After signing a three-year extension in June, Strange seems safely locked in atop a tight end depth chart that added rookies Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol in the second and fifth rounds, respectively, of the 2026 NFL Draft.
