  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Defensive star in loss

Latu had three total tackles, including 1.0 sacks and two additional tackles for loss in Sunday's loss at Seattle. Latu now has a career-high 6.5 sacks. He also had three stops, according to Pro Football Focus, as he was effective against the run as well.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Gets another interception Sunday

Latu recorded one tackle (one solo) and an interception during Sunday's 40-6 win versus the Raiders. Late in the second quarter with Indianapolis' back against its own end zone, Latu picked off a Geno Smith pass to tally his second interception of the season. Although he's not getting to the quarterback for sacks, he's finding other ways to contribute, and he should play a major role on the edge in Week 6 versus the Cardinals.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Back to full practice

Latu (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Latu missed last Sunday's win over the Broncos with the hamstring issue, but it appears he's on track to return for Week 3 against the Titans. The No. 15 overall pick in the 2024 Draft, Latu recorded one tackle (one solo) and one interception in the Colts' Week 1 win over the Dolphins.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Not expected to suit up Week 2

Latu, who is questionable for Sunday's matchup against Denver due to a hamstring injury, isn't likely to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Latu's hamstring issue kept him from practicing Wednesday and Thursday, but he took a questionable tag into the weekend after taking the field Friday as a limited participant. Though the second-year defensive end appears to making progress, the Colts are likely to err on the side of caution and hold him out for Week 2. Rapoport notes that the hamstring injury isn't considered a major concern, so if Latu ends up being held out Sunday, he'll stand a good chance at returning to action Week 3 at Tennessee.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Questionable for Week 2

Latu (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos. After back-to-back DNPs on Wednesday and Thursday, Latu got in a limited session Friday, giving him a chance to suit up Week 2. The 15th overall pick in the 2024 Draft, Latu played 67 percent of the Colts' defensive snaps in last Sunday's win over the Dolphins, logging one tackle and his first career interception.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Past shoulder issue

Latu (shoulder) has been a regular participant in Colts' training camp practices, Amanda Foster of the team's official site reports. The 2024 first-rounder injured his shoulder during the Colts' 2024 regular-season finale against the Jaguars in early January, but he was able to train during the offseason and has been a full participant in the early portions of training camp. Latu played in all 17 regular-season games during his rookie campaign (including one start) and logged 32 tackles (16 solo), including 4.0 sacks, one pass defense, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Latu is projected to have a much bigger role on the Colts' defensive front in 2025 and will likely be a regular starter at defensive end opposite Kwity Paye.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Gets third sack

Latu had three total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's win at the Jets. Latu has 3.0 sacks this season as the 2024 first-round pick has held a steady, if unspectacular, role as part of the defensive-line rotation.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Good to go for Week 3

Latu (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears. Latu opened the week with back-to-back DNPs, but he earned a questionable tag after practicing in a limited capacity Friday. The rookie first-round pick will suit up for Sunday's game and provide rotational depth at defensive end behind starters Kwity Paye and Tyquan Lewis.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Gets questionable tag

Latu (hip) was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears. Latu sustained a hip injury in the Colts' Week 2 loss against the Packers. The rookie first-round pick logged back-to-back DNPs to start the week, but he was able to practice in a limited capacity Friday to give himself a shot at suiting up Sunday. If Latu cannot play, Dayo Odeyingbo would serve as the Colts' top rotational defensive end behind starters Kwity Paye and Tyquan Lewis.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Should be OK

Latu, who left Sunday's loss to the Packers early with a hip injury, is expected to be fine moving forward, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports. Latu is expected to undergo further tests Monday to confirm those expectations, but in the meantime should be considered questionable for Week 3 against the Bears. The 2024 first-round selection picked up his first career tackle and fumble recovery before exiting against Green Bay, and if healthy, could see a larger role this Sunday if DeForest Buckner (ankle) is unable to play.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Three QB pressures in Colts debut

Latu had one tackle and pressured the quarterback three times in Sunday's preseason loss to Denver, but didn't play much on run downs, the Indianapolis Star reports. It was a promising debut for the 2024 first-round draft pick. Kwity Paye and Tyquan Lewis started at defensive end, but Latu will also be counted on heavily, and perhaps more than initially expected, due to Samson Ebukam's season-ending Achilles injury.

  • Colts' Laiatu Latu: Snagged by Indianapolis

The Colts selected Latu in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 15th overall. Latu becomes the first edge rusher off the board in this class and adds more firepower to a pass-rush that generated the fifth-most sacks in the NFL in 2023. He took an interesting path to get to this point and will play his rookie season at age 23. Latu began his career at Washington in 2019 and actually medically retired in the 2021 season. He returned to football the following year and starred at UCLA, earning All PAC-12 honors in the next two seasons and registering double-digit sacks in both years. Able to play standing up or with his hand in the ground, Latu will be a force off the edge in Indianapolis.
