  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Lands on IR

The Chiefs placed Moore on injured reserve Thursday due to a core-muscle injury. Moore joins fellow wideouts Hollywood Brown (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (knee) on IR, with the move occurring on the same day that DeAndre Hopkins was officially traded to the Chiefs. The soonest Moore can return to game action is Nov. 24 against the Panthers, but it's unclear if he'll be ready to go by then. Head coach Andy Reid said that the receiver's injury will "need to get fixed," implying that Moore will soon get surgery, per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. Prior to his placement on IR, the 2022 second-round pick did not record a catch on three targets over six games.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Fails to reel in lone target

Moore played 33 of the Chiefs' 70 snaps on offense and failed to haul in his lone target in Sunday's 28-18 win over the 49ers. He also returned a kickoff for 28 yards. Moore's 47 percent snap share was his highest of the season, but he was unable to connect with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and remains without a reception through the Chiefs' first six games. Though Hollywood Brown (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (knee) are out for the regular season, and JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) is set to miss Sunday's game in Las Vegas, Moore is unlikely to see his role dramatically increase in Week 8. The Chiefs are in advanced talks with the Titans in a trade to acquire DeAndre Hopkins, whose arrival would push Moore down another spot on the depth chart.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Fails to make impact Week 1

Moore played 10 offensive snaps (19 percent) but was not targeted in the Chiefs' 27-20 win over the Ravens on Thursday night. Moore wasn't able to record any offensive statistics in Kansas City's season-opener. Rookie first-round pick Xavier Worthy logging a two-TD debut effectively curtails any lingering hope that Moore will have a late breakout, especially once Marquise Brown (shoulder) manages to get healthy. With Rashee Rice, Worthy and Brown all available, Moore may not end up being active on game days.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Needs to earn spot on roster

Moore isn't a lock to make the 2024 roster, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher. The 2022 second-round pick has averaged 1.4 catches for 16.5 yards through 30 regular-season games, mostly serving as Kansas City's fourth or fifth wide receiver. It won't be surprising if Moore ends up earning a depth job again, though his fate partially depends on how things play out with the 2024 NFL Draft, Rashee Rice's legal situation, and Kadarius Toney's health, among other factors. Rice and free-agent signing Marquise Brown figure to play a lot when available, though neither can exactly be called reliable. Even so, Moore's lack of playing time and production through two seasons suggests he's not the most likely beneficiary in the event things go south for one of the team's starters. Kansas City seems optimistic about Toney and Justin Watson and might devote an early draft pick to the position.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Logs full practice Wednesday

Moore (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday. After the Chiefs activated him from injured reserve earlier in the day, Moore handled every on-field rep after being contained to three limited practices during the first week of Super Bowl LVIII prep. It remains to be seen to what extent the team incorporates Moore into the offense Sunday against the 49ers, but in three of five games before sustaining a swollen knee Week 15, he logged at least a 49 percent snap share.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Questionable after first week of SB prep

Moore (knee) was limited at Friday's practice and is listed as questionable after the first week of prep for Super Bowl LVIII against the 49ers. The Chiefs placed Moore on injured reserve after Week 15 due to a swollen knee, which so far has sidelined him for six consecutive contests. Because the team designated him for return from IR on Jan. 17, a decision to activate him will need to take place by Wednesday, and there's no telling if he's done enough to get back on the active roster after being listed as limited on all three practice reports this week. If he does, Moore should retain a small role in a Kansas City receiving corps with modest options behind No. 1 Rashee Rice on Sunday, Feb. 11.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Listed as limited

Moore (knee) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report. Moore last played Week 15 and was designated for return from injured reserve Jan. 17. The Chiefs will need to activate him from IR by Feb. 7 in order for him to be eligible to play in the Super Bowl matchup with the 49ers on Feb. 11. Even if that happens, Moore might not have much of a role. He played just 35 and 25 percent of snaps in his final two games before landing on IR, and he hasn't seen more than three targets in a game since Week 6.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Won't play Sunday

Moore (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens. Moore, who was designated to return from injured reserve Jan. 17, didn't practice at all this week and will thus target a potential return to action Feb. 11 should the Chiefs advance to the Super Bowl. Prior to suffering his knee injury, Moore had logged 21 catches on 38 targets for 244 yards and a touchdown in 14 regular-season contests.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Playoff return possible

Moore (knee) could return this season if the team advances far enough in the playoffs, according to head coach Andy Reid, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. Moore won't be eligible to return until the divisional round of the playoffs after going on injured reserve Monday, so it sounds like it's possible he may only need the minimum of four weeks to recover. The Western Michigan product ended his second regular season with very similar stats as his rookie campaign, making just 21 catches on 38 targets for 244 yards and a touchdown despite playing 174 more snaps on offense.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Reels in all three targets

Moore gathered in all three targets for 34 yards during Sunday's 31-17 victory over the Raiders. Moore hadn't tallied more than a pair of catches in a game since Week 3 and hasn't finished with more receiving yards since then, either. That said, neither his receptions nor receiving yards are particularly impressive from a fantasy standpoint. The second-year wideout hasn't found pay dirt since Week 2 and can safely remain on the waiver wire in most formats.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Snares one pass versus Eagles

Moore had one reception (on two targets) for four yards during Monday's 21-17 defeat against the Eagles. Moore hasn't hauled in more than two passes since Week 3 and turned in his lowest receiving total since Week 4's goose egg Monday night. He also has outputs of 11, 15 and eight yards among his last five contests, so there's little to get excited about regarding the second-year wideout's fantasy prospects. He did, at least, see an uptick in playing time again, logging 51 percent of the offensive snaps after logging just 23 percent last time out, but he hasn't drawn more than three targets in any of the last four games.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Playing time drops in Week 9

Moore caught two of three targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 21-14 victory versus the Dolphins. Moore logged just 25 percent of the offensive snaps for the Chiefs in Week 9, his lowest percentage of the season. His stat line falls on par with previous weeks, with his two grabs matching his output in three of the previous four games, but he did finish with his highest receiving yardage total since Week 3 against the Bears. Regardless, there's little to get excited about surrounding the second-year wideout's fantasy prospects the rest of the way.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Continues to disappoint

Moore had two receptions (on three targets) for 15 yards during Sunday's 31-17 victory over the Chargers. While Moore ranked second on the team in terms of snaps among Chiefs wideouts Sunday, he turned in just two catches for the third straight game and hasn't drawn more than four targets since Week 3. Rookie Rashee Rice has outperformed the second-year wideout on a weekly basis and has drawn 20 targets to Moore's 11 over the past four games, so things seem to be trending in different directions for the two young wideouts.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Snares two passes in Week 5

Moore caught all two targets for 11 yards during Sunday's 27-20 victory over the Vikings. Moore's production is a slight upgrade from the empty outing in the receptions column last week, though he also tallied a pair of rushes for 19 yards against the Jets. Either way, Moore reverted to being a fantasy dud after a couple of promising outings in Weeks 2 and 3, when he combined for seven catches for 112 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. Until there is an upswing in the second-year wideout's production, he can be left on the bench or waiver wire in most formats.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Moore finally did something of significance in Week 2 at Jacksonville with three catches for 70 yards and a touchdown on four targets. It's not enough to make him a must-start receiver in the majority of leagues, but it's a start and hopefully something he can build on. And this week, Moore gets a great matchup against the Bears, who have allowed the opposing No. 1 receiver -- Romeo Doubs in Week 1 and Mike Evans in Week 2 -- to score at least 18.6 PPR points in each of the first two games. Moore likely won't accomplish that level of production, but he could benefit if Kadarius Toney (hamstring) is hurt. I would use Moore as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in Week 3.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

We're waiting to find out the status for Travis Kelce (knee), but if he's out against the Lions then Moore could have a big game. Even if Kelce plays then I would still start Moore as at least a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. He is going to get plenty of attention from Patrick Mahomes this season, starting this week, and Moore has the potential for plenty of production each week. I also wouldn't worry about Kadarius Toney (knee) this week if he plays because I expect his snaps to be limited in his return to action.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Starts preseason opener

Moore started but was not targeted in limited action during Sunday's 26-24 preseason-opening loss to the Saints. Moore began the game alongside Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Justin Watson in Kansas City's first-team offense. However, with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes featuring for just one drive, Moore too was withdrawn early on, allowing rookie Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross more opportunities. Coming off just 22 catches last season, Moore -- a 2022 second-rounder -- could grow in importance in the buildup to the upcoming campaign, as fellow wideout Kadarius Toney (knee) is likely out for the preseason.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Working with starters regularly

Moore is dominating first-team snaps in two-wide formations at training camp, Jesse Newell of the KC Star reports. Newell also mentions that Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross have only occasionally mixed in with the starters and "overwhelmingly" are working with the second unit. Moore and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, on the other hand, primarily have caught passes from Patrick Mahomes. Meanwhile, Chiefs GM Brett Veach said Monday that he expects Kadarius Toney (knee) to be ready for Week 1, which would give the Chiefs another candidate to start at wide receiver

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Getting look as top slot man

Moore appears set to enter training camp as Kansas City's top slot receiver after an impressive showing in mandatory minicamp last month, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. "Skyy's worked real hard this offseason," head coach Andy Reid said during minicamp. "He looks like he's on the same page with Patrick [Mahomes]. Let's keep on advancing as we go. He'll do that because he's wired right to do that." Moore had some notable ball-security issues as a return man and was limited to a part-time role on offense during his rookie season, finishing with just 22 catches for 250 yards and no touchdowns across 33 targets. Though Kansas City didn't lean on him much to fill in for the departed Tyreek Hill in 2022, Moore looks like he'll be asked to serve as more of a direct replacement in 2023 for JuJu Smith-Schuster, who left for the Patriots in free agency. Moore already seems to have an early edge on the slot receiver job, but he'll need to continue to shine in training camp and the preseason in order to hold off the likes of Rashee Rice, Justin Watson and Justyn Ross for the gig. Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Kadarius Toney are the defending champs' other two projected starting wideouts.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Catches TD in Super Bowl

Moore finished his rookie campaign with 22 receptions on 33 targets for 250 receiving yards across 16 regular-season appearances. He added three rushes for 24 rushing yards and operated as a kick- and punt-returner in 2022. Moore caught five passes in back-to-back games during Weeks 11 and 12, totaling 99 receiving yards during that stretch, but he was also held without a catch in six games and had only one reception five times during the regular season. Due to his lack of targets, Moore wasn't much of a factor in standard fantasy leagues despite Kansas City's lack of wideout depth, but he's still a core piece of the Chiefs' future and could make a sizable impact in Year 2 with Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster set for free agency this offseason. The rookie had at least one reception in each of his three playoff appearances, including a seven-target outing in the AFC Championship Game and a big touchdown in the Super Bowl.
