  • 49ers' Hayden Rucci: Inks future deal with Niners

The 49ers signed Rucci to a reserve/future contract Thursday. Rucci joined the 49ers' practice squad Jan. 14 but wasn't elevated to the active roster for the NFC divisional-round game against the Seahawks despite the absence of George Kittle (Achilles). Rucci will be on the 49ers' 90-man roster when the offseason officially begins Feb. 9, giving him the opportunity to participate in OTAs and minicamp.

  • Hayden Rucci: Signed to practice squad

The 49ers signed Rucci to the practice squad Wednesday. Rucci had a tryout with the team Tuesday, and the tight end has officially joined the practice squad in anticipation of the 49ers' divisional round matchup with the Seahawks. With starting tight end George Kittle (Achilles) suffering a season-ending injury in last Sunday's playoff win over the Eagles, Rucci will add depth to the position group. The 24-year-old is a strong candidate for elevation to the active roster ahead of Saturday's game against the Seahawks.

  • Hayden Rucci: Joins Dolphins' practice squad

Miami signed Rucci to the practice squad Friday. Rucci previously appeared in four games with Miami between Week 8 and Week 11, in which span he wasn't targeted a single time and mostly contributed on special teams. Now back with the team on the practice squad, he'll resume providing the Dolphins with emergency depth at tight end.

  • Hayden Rucci: Let go by Detroit

The Lions waived Rucci on Wednesday. Rucci was claimed off waivers by the Lions on Dec. 1 to give the team added depth at tight end due to Brock Wright (neck) and Sam LaPorta (back) both being on injured reserve. Rucci did not appear in a game for Detroit before being let go, but he could remain with the Lions as a member of the team's practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Lions' Hayden Rucci: Healthy scratch for Week 14

Rucci (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Cowboys. The Lions claimed Rucci off waivers to provide depth to their beat-up tight end corps. He has yet to appear in a game with the team.

  • Hayden Rucci: Let go by Miami

The Dolphins waived Rucci on Saturday. Rucci didn't record any catches across his four outings with the team and is now headed to waivers. In a corresponding move, Miami also activated Darren Waller (pectoral) off injured reserve. Rucci could return to the team's practice squad should he clear waivers.

  • Hayden Rucci: Back to practice squad

Rucci reverted from the active roster to the practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log. Rucci was elevated to the practice squad for the second straight game for Thursday's loss to the Ravens. He did not log a snap and will now head back to the practice squad.

  • Hayden Rucci: Reverts to practice squad

Rucci reverted to Miami's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Rucci was elevated for the first time this weekend for the Dolphins' Week 8 win over Atlanta. He worked as Miami's third tight end behind Tanner Conner and Greg Dulcich and didn't record any targets. Rucci's opportunity came as a result of Darren Waller (IR, pectoral) and Julian Hill (ankle) missing the contest. Waller is on IR and Hill was deemed a non-participant in Monday's estimated practice report, so Rucci certainly has a chance of being elevated again for Thursday's battle against Baltimore.

  • Dolphins' Hayden Rucci: Joins active roster

Rucci was elevated to the Dolphins' active roster Saturday. The Wisconsin product's elevation provides Miami with much-needed depth at tight end, as both Darren Waller (pectoral) and Julian Hill (ankle) are sidelined for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons. Rucci has yet to appear in an NFL game after posting 11 catches for 125 yards and no touchdowns during his final collegiate season in 2023.

  • Hayden Rucci: Joins Miami's practice squad

The Dolphins signed Rucci to their practice squad Thursday. Rucci wasn't able to earn one of the tight-end slots on Miami's final 53-man roster for 2025, but he'll contribute as a member of the practice squad. He spent most of the 2024 campaign on the Dolphins' practice squad too, and he's still waiting to make his regular-season debut.

  • Hayden Rucci: Cut by Miami

The Dolphins waived Rucci on Tuesday. Rucci entered Dolphins' training camp gunning for a depth spot on the 53-man roster, but the Wisconsin tight end failed to record a catch across three preseason games. Rucci spent most of 2024 on the Dolphins' practice squad, and assuming he clears waivers he could reprise that role for the 2025 campaign.

  • Hayden Rucci: Rejoins Dolphins' practice squad

Miami signed Rucci to its practice squad Wednesday. The Dolphins just cut Rucci from their practice squad three weeks ago, but they've now opted to bring him back aboard ahead of Week 11. After Tanner Conner (knee) was sent to injured reserve Wednesday, it makes some sense for Miami to explore depth options at tight end.

  • Hayden Rucci: Sticks around in Magic City

The Dolphins signed Rucci to the practice squad Thursday. Rucci signed with Miami in May as an undrafted free agent. The Wisconsin product entered training camp competing for a depth spot at tight end, but he was ultimately omitted from the 53-man roster. Rucci had a strong finish to the preseason, catching five passes (on six targets) for 44 yards and one touchdown against the Buccaneers on Friday. He'll stick around on the Dolphins' taxi squad and stay ready for a promotion to the active roster.
