Rucci was elevated for the first time this weekend for the Dolphins' Week 8 win over Atlanta. He worked as Miami's third tight end behind Tanner Conner and Greg Dulcich and didn't record any targets. Rucci's opportunity came as a result of Darren Waller (IR, pectoral) and Julian Hill (ankle) missing the contest. Waller is on IR and Hill was deemed a non-participant in Monday's estimated practice report, so Rucci certainly has a chance of being elevated again for Thursday's battle against Baltimore.

Rucci signed with Miami in May as an undrafted free agent. The Wisconsin product entered training camp competing for a depth spot at tight end, but he was ultimately omitted from the 53-man roster. Rucci had a strong finish to the preseason, catching five passes (on six targets) for 44 yards and one touchdown against the Buccaneers on Friday. He'll stick around on the Dolphins' taxi squad and stay ready for a promotion to the active roster.
