Lynch was let go along with defensive end BJ Thompson (chest) in order to clear space for incoming undrafted free agents. Lynch played in one game for Kansas City last season, tallying six tackles while playing 25 defensive snaps in the regular-season finale versus Denver. He hasn't had a significant role with an NFL club since playing in 16 regular-season contests and recording 2.0 sacks with Minnesota in 2021.

Lynch reverted to the Chargers' IR after going unclaimed off waivers. He was set to miss the 2023 season before the injury settlement was reached. He'll be able to look for opportunities elsewhere once he returns to full health.

Lynch made 10 tackles (seven solo) in Friday's 52-33 loss to the Saints.
Lynch made his first career start on Christmas Day because of injuries to Eric Kendricks (calf), Troy Dye (concussion) and Todd Davis (ribs). He put up impressive fantasy numbers for any managers that had the foresight to start the undrafted rookie out of Baylor, although he's partly accountable for Alvin Kamara's record-setting, six-touchdown performance. With the Vikings out of the playoff hunt, he could make another start in the season finale against the Lions.
