  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Four turnovers in loss

Young completed 19 of 28 passes for 219 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Cowboys. He added three rushes for 12 yards and an additional score. Young had turned the ball over only four times in six games since retaking the starting role entering Sunday's game, but he struggled to take care of the ball in Carolina's blowout loss with two picks and two lost fumbles. Those turnovers led directly to 10 points for Dallas. Young's day was also underwhelming in terms of his ability to move the offense, as a significant amount of his yardage came on an 83-yard touchdown toss to Jalen Coker. After showing signs of being a competent NFL starter, Young took a step back in the loss and now has only one passing touchdown in six straight games.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Week 15 Waiver Priority List

Young struggled in Week 14 at Philadelphia with just 14.5 Fantasy points, but he scored at least 18.5 Fantasy points in his previous two games against Kansas City and Tampa Bay. He should be in that range again in Week 15 against Dallas since the Cowboys are No. 6 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. I don't like Young's matchup in Week 16 against Arizona, but he faces the Buccaneers again in Week 17. Young scored a season-high 25.6 Fantasy points against Tampa Bay in Week 13.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Struggles in Sunday's loss

Young completed 19 of 34 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Eagles. He also gained 29 rushing yards on seven carries. While the second-year QB had some big moments late as the Panthers tried to pull off the upset, Young's inexperience also showed at times -- on Carolina's final drive, he got flagged for an illegal forward pass deep in his own end when he scrambled across the line of scrimmage before getting rid of the ball. The interception was Young's first turnover since Week 9, and he's thrown at least one TD in six straight straight games since regaining the starting job. He gets a much friendlier matchup on paper in Week 15 against the Cowboys.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Week 14 Waiver Priority List

Young just scored a season-high 25.6 Fantasy points in Week 13 against Tampa Bay, and he's playing the best football of his career in the past month. He has a tough matchup in Week 14 at Philadelphia, but then he gets Dallas in Week 15 and Tampa Bay again in Week 17. In deeper leagues, Young could be a useful streaming option in those matchups. Young should be rostered in all Superflex and two-quarterback leagues, and you can consider starting him in one-quarterback leagues as well against the Cowboys and Buccaneers. He's worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB in one-quarterback leagues and at least 10 percent in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Another effective performance

Young completed 26 of 46 passes for 298 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the Buccaneers. He added three rushes for 17 yards and an additional touchdown. Young primarily got to his impressive yardage total based on volume rather than efficiency, but he continues to lead a competent Panthers offense. He accounted for the team's first touchdown himself by scrambling for a 10-yard rush midway through the second quarter. Young also had strong moments as a passer, including a 25-yard touchdown strike to Adam Thielen in the second half in addition to an impressive drive that resulted in a field goal which began with only 43 seconds remaining in the first half, during which he went 5-for-8 for 49 yards. Perhaps most importantly, Young continued to limit mistakes by not turning the ball over for the third straight game while also taking only one sack.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Solid showing against KC

Young completed 21 of 35 passes for 263 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Chiefs. He added three rushes for 20 yards. The Panthers came away with only nine first-half points, but Young kept the offense moving in the first two quarters by completing 10 of 18 passes for 177 yards. He managed to break through for a touchdown on a one-yard pass to David Moore midway through the third quarter, and Young also managed four completions of at least 20 yards -- his highest mark in a game this season. The only shortcoming of his performance was a single touchdown pass, but this was almost certainly his best start of the campaign. His position as Carolina's starter in the short-term is also seemingly no longer in question, as coach Dave Canales said that Young will start in Week 13 against Tampa Bay, per David Newton of ESPN.com.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Week 12 Waiver Priority List

Young will remain Carolina's starter coming off the bye in Week 11, and he should be rostered in all Superflex and two-quarterback leagues. He hasn't scored more than 17.6 Fantasy points in any of his past three starts, but he can be a bye-week or injury replacement if needed. And he has two upcoming games that are favorable matchups against Tampa Bay (Week 13) and Dallas (Week 15) if he's still starting by then. In Superflex and two-quarterback leagues, Young is worth adding for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Remains starter after bye week

Panthers head coach Dave Canales confirmed that Young will remain the team's starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports. After a five-game benching earlier in the season, Young returned to the starting lineup Week 8, when Andy Dalton was unavailable after suffering a thumb injury in a car accident. Though Dalton was cleared to resume playing Week 9, Young proceeded to start in both of the Panthers' final two games prior to their Week 11 bye, guiding Carolina to wins over the Saints and Giants while completing 60.8 percent of his passes for 5.8 yards per attempt and a 2:1 TD:INT between those two victories. While his numbers since reclaiming the starting role aren't overly impressive, Young has still taken a step forward from his lowly production during his 2023 rookie campaign and the first two games of 2024. He'll remain a low-end fantasy option while he continues to start for Carolina, with his utility largely limited to leagues that start two quarterbacks or have a QB flex spot.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Modest numbers in OT victory

Young completed 15 of 25 passes for 126 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions while adding two rushes for 30 yards in the Panthers' 20-17 overtime win over the Giants in Munich on Sunday. Young once again carried out a very conservative game plan that saw him average a miniscule 5.0 yards per attempt, but the embattled second-year pro stayed away from any turnovers and mostly rode the coattails of Chuba Hubbard, who put together a career-best effort on the ground. Young hit rookie tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders from five yards out in the first quarter for his one touchdown pass, and the former has clearly shown improvement in his second go-around as the starting quarterback following a mostly disastrous start to his second campaign. Young heads into the Panthers' Week 11 bye with a 4:3 TD:INT over his current three-game tenure in the top job but will face a daunting Week 12 matchup at home against the Chiefs on Sunday, Nov. 24.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Likely getting another start

Young appears likely to start this Sunday against the Giants in Munich, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. The Panthers haven't yet named a starter, with general manager Dan Morgan deferring the decision to head coach Dave Canales. However, Newton suggests that "everything points toward Young starting his third straight game." Last year's No. 1 overall pick earned his third career win this past Sunday, albeit with a modest passing line (16-of-26 for 171 yards, one touchdown and one interception) in a 23-22 victory over the injury-riddled Saints. Andy Dalton was active for the contest as a backup, after missing the prior game due to a thumb sprain suffered in a car accident.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Named starter for Week 9

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that Young will start Sunday against the Saints, despite Andy Dalton (thumb) returning to practice as a full participant, Joe Person of The Athletic reports. Young threw his first touchdowns of the season during Carolina's 28-14 loss to the Broncos in Week 8, finishing the game with 24 completions on 37 attempts for 224 yards and two interceptions. The Panthers' top wideout, Diontae Johnson (rib), was inactive for that contest and was then traded to the Ravens on Tuesday, but Carolina could get Adam Thielen (hamstring) back from injured reserve this weekend. Even with a lack of experienced pass-catching options at his disposal Week 8, Young showed some promise while working with undrafted free agent Jalen Coker (four catches for 78 yards and a touchdown) as well as rookie first-round pick Xavier Legette (four catches for 34 yards and a touchdown). According to David Newton of ESPN.com, Canales declined to name a starting quarterback for the rest of the season, but a strong showing against New Orleans could help fortify Young's standing atop the depth chart. The second-year signal-caller was benched after Carolina's Week 2 loss to the Chargers and served as the backup to Dalton for five straight games before Dalton's thumb injury paved the way for Young to start the Week 8 contest.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Could start beyond Week 8

Young will start Sunday's game against the Broncos in place of the injured Andy Dalton (thumb), and the second-year quarterback could have the opportunity to keep the starting job beyond this week if he plays well in Denver, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Even though he was benched after leading the Panthers to uncompetitive losses in the first two games of 2024, Young was always expected to get another look in a starting role before the end of the season after getting some extended time to watch from the bench. However, with Dalton spraining his thumb in a car accident Tuesday and being listed as doubtful for the Week 8 contest, Young will return to the starting role perhaps a bit sooner than anticipated. While serving as the Panthers' scout-team quarterback for the past five weeks, Young has remained "engaged and involved," according to head coach Dave Canales, and the Panthers are hoping that the time off from starting with leave the 23-year-old better prepared as he returns to the lineup Sunday. Young won't be set up especially well for success in his first start since Week 2, as he'll not only be facing off against an imposing Denver defense, but he'll also be operating without his top two receivers in Diontae Johnson (rib) and Adam Thielen (hamstring).

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Starting Week 8 with Dalton hurt

Head coach Dave Canales announced Wednesday that Young will start Sunday's game in Denver over Andy Dalton (thumb), Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports. Young will get a chance at redemption after being benched in favor of Dalton in Week 3. The second-year quarterback failed to throw a touchdown pass in two games prior to his benching, but with Dalton coming off a dreadful showing in this past Sunday's 40-7 loss to the Commanders, Young has a chance to reclaim the starting role moving forward if he shows improvement against the Broncos. Dalton doesn't have a firm return timetable after spraining his thumb in a car accident Tuesday.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Enters late in blowout loss

Young completed both of his pass attempts for minus-4 yards in Sunday's 40-7 loss to the Commanders. The second-year signal-caller replaced Andy Dalton as the Panthers were down by 33 points on the team's final offensive drive and proceeded to complete a two-yard pass followed by a completion for minus-6 yards, leading to yet another three-and-out. When head coach Dave Canales was asked about Young potentially starting Week 8 against the Broncos, he told reporters that the Panthers are still committed to Dalton this week, explaining that the offense has been more fluid and even explosive at times under Dalton, per David Newton of ESPN.com. Young is expected to get another opportunity to start in Carolina at some point this season, especially with the team's 1-6 record to begin the year.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Expected to start again in 2024

The Panthers eventually expect to restore Young as their starting quarterback, though a timeline for him to reclaim the job from veteran Andy Dalton hasn't been established, sources tell Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Young was sent to the bench after completing 31 of 56 pass attempts for 245 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions while taking six sacks in the Panthers' first two games, non-competitive losses to the Saints and Chargers. Though Young has now gone just 2-16 as a starter since entering the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Panthers apparently aren't yet ready to pull the plug on developing the 23-year-old. According to sources familiar with the situation, Rapoport relays that Young's removal from the starting role is "viewed as a timeout" for the young signal-caller and "not a season-long benching." Young has reportedly handled his demotion well and has continued to work in practice this week as the scout-team quarterback, and the Panthers are hopeful that at least one game of watching from the sideline will be beneficial. Head coach Dave Canales will likely provide an update on the team's plans at quarterback following Dalton's first start Sunday in Las Vegas.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Not on trade block

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that trading Young is "not something we're really considering," David Newton of ESPN.com reports. "We have a great situation with our quarterbacks right now with guys that have experience," Canales said. "We love where we are at, and it's all hands on deck." After the Panthers were outscored 73-13 over the first two weeks of the season, Canales made the decision to pull the plug on Young, tabbing steady veteran Andy Dalton to replace the 2023 No. 1 overall pick as the team's starting quarterback. In the two losses, Young failed to show any noticeable sign of improvement from his rough rookie season, completing just 31 of 56 passes (55.4 percent) for 245 yards (4.4 YPA), zero touchdowns and three interceptions. Only 10 of his 56 throws produced a first down, and Young took six sacks. The Panthers are hoping a hard reset will help Young realize his potential, but Canales didn't entirely dismiss the notion of the organization moving on from the 23-year-old signal-caller.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Benched in favor of Dalton

The Panthers decided Monday to bench Young and start veteran Andy Dalton beginning Week 3 versus the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Panthers coach Dave Canales called Young "our quarterback" after Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers, but after a disastrous rookie year, the 2023 No. 1 overall pick now will head to the bench just two games into his sophomore season. Carolina will turn to Dalton after an 0-2 start with the hopes of finding some type of rhythm on offense, with Young having thrown for just 245 passing yards combined, three interceptions and no touchdowns in that span. It's unclear whether the Panthers will consider giving Young another chance under center down the stretch.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Tosses TD on lone drive Saturday

Young completed six of eight passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 31-26 preseason win over the Bills. Young was effective on his only drive in the game, converting a 4th-and-3 with a 17-yard pass to Diontae Johnson before connecting with tight end Jordan Matthews for an eight-yard touchdown. Those are two of the offseason additions to a new-look Panthers passing game under new head coach Dave Canales. The Panthers are hoping these changes will help Young bounce back from an underwhelming rookie season in which he threw for only 2,877 yards and an 11:10 TD:INT. The 2023 first overall pick will look to begin his regular-season redemption arc Sept. 8 in New Orleans.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Scheduled to play Saturday

Young and other starters are scheduled to play in Saturday's preseason game against Buffalo, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. Coach Dave Canales wants to use the final exhibition as a dress rehearsal after resting his starters for the first two weeks of the preseason. It'll be the only opportunity to see Young in a game setting before Carolina's Week 1 road matchup with the Saints.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Not playing Saturday

Young isn't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game versus the Jets, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. Young thus will have one more chance to handle some game action during exhibition season next Saturday in Buffalo. With Andy Dalton also not suiting up this weekend, Jack Plummer and Jake Luton will be the available signal-callers for the Panthers. Once Week 1 rolls around, Young will be looking to bounce back from a forgettable rookie campaign in 2023 in which he passed for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, rushed for 253 yards and fumbled 11 times (six lost) in 16 regular-season contests.
