Vikings' Ben Yurosek: Expected to return this season
Minnesota placed Yurosek on injured reserve Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury.
Though the nature of Yurosek's injury isn't known, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune relays that the second-year tight end isn't expected to face a long-term absence. Yurosek will have to miss at least four games as a result of his move to IR, making the Vikings' Oct. 11 game in New Orleans as the earliest date for his potential 2026 debut. The 24-year-old mainly handled a blocking and special-teams role for the Vikings in 2025, recording just two catches for 14 yards on three targets over 12 games.

Vikings' Ben Yurosek: Limited production in rookie season
Yurosek appeared in 14 games during the 2025 season and caught two passes for 14 yards.
Yurosek joined the team as an undrafted free agent last May and saw limited action during his rookie campaign. With both T.J. Hockenson (shoulder) and Josh Oliver (ankle) under contract for the 2026 campaign, Yurosek will likely continue to see the majority of his playing time on special teams next season.

Yurosek is a solid athlete out of Georgia, as he ran a 4.64 40-yard dash at 6-foot-4, 245 pounds. He features an 81-inch wingspan, too. The California native put together two solid seasons as a receiver at Stanford, but he never reached those levels again, especially in his fifth year when he caught just 15 passes for 185 yards and no scores at Georgia. His best path to a roster spot is as a run-blocking tight end.
