  • Colts' Tyler Warren: Remains out with groin issue

Warren (groin) may not practice this week as the team prepares to have him available for the season opener, Jake Arthur of Roundtable Sports reports.

"We're gonna be pretty smart with Tyler [Warren] this week," said coach Shane Steichen on Tuesday. Warren, who suffered a strained abductor last week in joint practice, is being brought along cautiously and may continue to miss practice with the intent of having him ready to go Week 1. Even if Warren is unable to practice this week or play in the preseason finale, there is still time for the promising second-year tight end to be ready to go without missing regular-season games.

  • Colts' Tyler Warren: Will miss 'about a week' with groin injury

Warren (groin) is expected to miss about a week, but his status for Week 1 against the Ravens isn't in any danger, Ian Rapoport of ESPN and NFL Network reports.

Warren won't suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Falcons, but the groin injury he suffered in practice Wednesday isn't expected to sideline the tight end for an extended period. Once healthy enough to play, the 2025 first-round pick is poised to hold a key role in a Colts passing game that remains without wide receiver Alec Pierce (ankle), who led the team with 1,003 receiving yards in 2025 but is currently on the active/PUP list. Warren ranked second on the Colts with 817 receiving yards during his rookie season.

  • Colts' Tyler Warren: Groin injury not believed to be serious

Warren (groin) suffered a strained abductor in Wednesday's practice but is expected to return to practice next week, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

Warren "is going to be fine," a source told Schultz. The second-year tight end suffered the injury in Wednesday's joint practice with Atlanta and seems unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Falcons. Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree and Will Mallory figure to see more snaps at the position while Warren is tending to his injury.

  • Colts' Tyler Warren: Coach confirms that TE sustained groin injury

Coach Shane Steichen confirmed Warren suffered a groin injury during Wednesday's joint practice with the Falcons but provided no additional information, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Warren went down on a pass play during the session and limped off the field with a trainer. He eventually returned to the sideline without a helmet and had a wrap on his right groin. Now that the nature of the injury is confirmed, it remains to be seen how much time Warren will require to recover, and his status for Saturday's preseason contest against Atlanta is up in the air.

  • Colts' Tyler Warren: Returns to sideline after practice exit

Warren rejoined his teammates on the sideline without a helmet after suffering an apparent groin injury during Wednesday's practice, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.

Warren went down after a pass play and was favoring his right groin as he limped off the field with a member of the Colts' training staff. He still had a slight limp as he returned to the sideline, per Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis, and Warren's lack of helmet and presence of a wrap around his right groin (according to James Boyd of The Athletic) indicate the second-year tight end won't mix into any more drills Wednesday.

  • Colts' Tyler Warren: Exits Wednesday's practice with trainer

Warren suffered an apparent groin injury during Wednesday's practice, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Warren went down Wednesday and had a noticeable limp while leaving the practice field with a trainer, reaching at his right groin as he did so, per Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis. The extent of the injury isn't known, but Warren could be in danger of missing multiple practices with roughly three-and-a-half weeks to go until the Colts' regular-season opener against the Ravens on Sunday, Sept. 13.

  • Colts' Tyler Warren: Doesn't play Thursday

Warren did not play in the Colts' 13-13 tie with the Patriots in Thursday's preseason game.

Warren and several other starters observed Thursday's exhibition contest in street clothes, with Pharaoh Brown and Will Mallory seeing most of the tight-end snaps. Warren is coming off an excellent rookie season and will be a key piece to the Colts' offense alongside running back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Alec Pierce (ankle). Warren's involvement in the passing game could expand early on in the season if Pierce is still sidelined.
