Saints' Cesar Ruiz: No practice Wednesday
Ruiz (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Ruiz suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's win over the Panthers and the issue is continuing to plague him. His status for a Week 16 matchup against the Jets looks to be in doubt, though he'll still have two days to increase his practice reps.

Saints' Charlie Smyth: Set to be signed to active roster
Smyth is expected to be signed to the Saints' active roster this week, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Smyth has been elevated from the practice squad to serve as the team's starting kicker each of the last three weeks, going 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts, including a 56-yard make. The 24-year-old has now exhausted all three of his elevations and in order to appear in another contest, the team will have to officially sign him to the active roster, which head coach Kellen Moore stated is coming in the near future.

Saints' Justin Reid: Limited practice Wednesday
Reid (knee) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
Reid has been sidelined for the team's last two contests while dealing with a knee issue, but his ability to practice in any capacity to open the week is a positive sign for his chances to play in Week 16. The safety will have two more chances to log a full practice prior to Sunday's matchup with the Jets.

Saints' Alvin Kamara: No practice yet
Kamara (knee/ankle) was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice.
Kamara has yet to practice since he sustained a sprained MCL in Week 12, but the fact that coach Kellen Moore already has ruled out fellow RB Devin Neal (hamstring) for Week 16 action, per Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune, would seem to indicate Kamara may be on the brink of a return to action. In order to do so, though, Kamara likely will need to mix into drills Thursday and/or Friday. Evan Hull and Audric Estime are the only healthy backfield options on the Saints' active roster at the moment.

Saints' Devaughn Vele: Ruled out to face Jets
Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday that Vele (shoulder) is ruled out for Sunday's game against New York, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Vele is considered week-to-week due to a left arm injury sustained during New Orleans' win over the Panthers in Week 15, which makes his status uncertain for the Saints' remaining three regular-season games. The second-year wideout had shown improved chemistry with rookie quarterback as of late, having averaged 59.8 receiving yards across his last four appearances and drawing at least five targets in each of those contests.

Saints' Devin Neal: Won't play Week 16
Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday that Neal (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Neal will miss at least one game due to the hamstring injury that forced him out of New Orleans's win over the Panthers in Week 15, in which he drew a third straight start in place of Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle). With Neal now ruled out and Kamara still not practicing, Evan Hull and Audric Estime now become candidates to lead the Saints' backfield heading into a crucial Week 16 fantasy slate. Hull and Estime split time versus Carolina after Neal departed with injury.

Saints' Demario Davis: Logs five stops in Week 15 win
Davis finished Sunday's 20-17 victory over Carolina with five tackles (four solo).
Davis tied for fourth on the Saints with five tackles in the narrow win. While that was a decent tally, it was his lowest mark since he recorded three stops in Week 6 against New England. Davis has been a steady presence for New Orleans this season, as usual, playing every defensive snap in all but one of the team's 14 games and logging 123 stops to reach triple digits in that category for the ninth consecutive campaign.

Saints' Devaughn Vele: Considered week-to-week
Vele (shoulder) is believed to have avoided a major injury but is considered week-to-week, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
The timing of the injury could make it tricky for Vele to return this season, Underhill added. Vele was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 20-17 win over the Panthers after he secured five of six targets for 69 yards prior to his departure. If Vele is unable to play this upcoming Sunday against the Jets, Mason Tipton, Kevin Austin and Dante Pettis would appear to be next in line for snaps behind No. 1 wideout Chris Olave.

Saints' Mason Tipton: Totals one yard Week 15
Tipton hauled in one of two targets for five yards and rushed once for minus-4 yards during Sunday's 20-17 win over the Panthers.
Tipton started his fourth game in a row and played the second-most offensive snaps (55) among the Saints' wide receivers behind WR1 Chris Olave (58). Devaughn Vele, who's become the No. 2 wideout over the last five games, played 38 offensive snaps before exiting with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter. Vele was also seen wearing a sling after the game, likely putting his availability for Week 16 up in the air. If he misses time, then Tipton should be the next man up in the pass-catcher hierarchy behind Olave and tight end Juwan Johnson. The Saints will next play versus the Jets on Sunday.

Saints' Foster Moreau: Logs zero targets in win
Moreau totaled zero targets during Sunday's 20-17 win versus the Panthers.
Moreau did not attract a target for the fourth time in 10 appearances this season. The 28-year-old played 43 percent of offensive snaps behind TE1 Juwan Johnson, as the former has played over 45 percent of offensive snaps just once this year. Moreau is on pace to finish with single-digit receptions for the first time since 2020, and he won't have any fantasy value unless Johnson misses time over the final three regular-season games. New Orleans will next play versus the Jets on Sunday, Dec. 21.

Saints' Taysom Hill: Records two yards Week 15
Hill rushed twice for two yards and tallied zero targets during Sunday's 20-17 win against the Panthers.
Hill logged exactly two touches for the third week in a row, and he's averaging 4.1 targets per game over 10 appearances this season. The 35-year-old has played sparingly in the Saints' up-and-down offense, and he's totaled just 95 yards from scrimmage this year. Hill's minimal usage won't make him a player worth attention from fantasy owners over the final three games of the regular season. New Orleans will next play versus the Jets on Sunday, Dec. 21.
