Miller stopped 21 of 25 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Wild.
The 40-year-old Miller was making the final appearance of his distinguished NHL career. Minnesota's Victor Rask scored 2:46 into overtime to ruin the farewell for Miller, whose 391 career victories are the most of any American-born netminder in NHL history. Miller went 4-8-2 in 2020-21 in a backup role behind No. 1 starter John Gibson, posting a 3.51 GAA and .882 save percentage.

Saturday will be the final NHL contest of Miller's career, as the 40-year-old netminder has announced he plans to retire following the conclusion of the 2020-21 campaign. The winningest American-born goaltender will try to end his career on a high note by picking up his fifth victory of the season in a tough road matchup with a Wild team that's averaging 3.58 goals per game at home this campaign, third in the NHL.

Saturday may have been the last time Miller plays in an NHL game, which likely contributed to the Ducks scoring a half-dozen for just the second time this season. The 40-year-old improved to 4-8-1 with a 3.49 GAA and an .885 save percentage in 15 appearances this year. If this is indeed Miller's last game, he ends with 391 wins in 795 appearances -- the highest win total of any American-born goalie in NHL history.

Miller will be making his first appearance in the crease since announcing he will retire at the end of the season. With little to play for the rest of the year, the Ducks could decide to give Miller a few extras start down the stretch as a nice sendoff for the winningest US-born netminder in NHL history.

Miller will retire having posted a 390-289-87 record with a .914 save percentage and a 2.63 GAA in an absurd 794 career appearances split between the Sabres, Blues, Canucks and Ducks across 18 seasons. Miller currently holds the record for most all-time wins by an American-born goaltender, a record that likely won't be broken anytime soon.

The Coyotes struck twice in the first period, but Miller slammed the door after that. He moved into 14th place in league history with his 390th career win, passing Dominik Hasek. The 40-year-old Miller has had his struggles in 2020-21 with a 3-4-1 record, a 3.48 GAA and an .882 save percentage in 10 outings. With John Gibson (lower body) on injured reserve, Miller should be considered favored to start Saturday's rematch with the Coyotes.
