Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Placed on injured reserve
Stone (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Stone suffered an upper-body injury during Sunday's game against the Penguins and had already missed two matchups as a result. While it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, his placement on injured reserve indicates that he'll be unavailable for at least a week in total. Cole Reinhardt should continue to see playing time in Stone's absence.

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Out again Wednesday
Stone (upper body) will not be in the lineup Wednesday versus the Red Wings, Ryan Wallis of Fox Sports Las Vegas reports.
Stone has missed the last two games due to the issue. The 33-year-old winger will try to be ready for Friday versus the Wild. Cole Reinhardt is staying in the lineup while Stone is out, and newcomer Cole Smith will make his Vegas debut after being traded from Nashville on Tuesday.

Stone (upper body) will not suit up Tuesday in Buffalo and remains day-to-day, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.
Stone was injured Sunday in Pittsburgh and won't be an option for the first half of the Golden Knights' back-to-back as a result. Considering his injury history, it seems unlikely the right-shot winger will draw into the lineup Wednesday in Detroit as well. It remains to be seen how the lines will shake out for Vegas on Tuesday, but Alexander Holtz is expected to draw back into the lineup in Buffalo due to Stone's injury.

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Considered day-to-day
Head coach Bruce Cassidy said Monday that Stone (upper body) is considered day-to-day, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Stone suffered an upper-body injury during Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss additional time. Cassidy said that the Golden Knights will wait before determining Stone's status for Tuesday's game against the Sabres, but Alexander Holtz is a candidate to enter the lineup if Stone is unavailable.

Stone logged just 6:06 of ice time before exiting the contest. He has amassed 21 goals and 60 points in 43 appearances this season. Braeden Bowman replaced Stone on the top line for the start of the second period. Stone (not injury related) is slated to return to the lineup for Friday's game against the Capitals, SinBin.vegas reports.
Stone didn't appear in Wednesday's game against the Kings after playing for Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, but he should be able to join the Golden Knights ahead of Friday's matchup in Washington. Across 41 appearances this year, Stone has racked up 21 goals, 39 assists, 34 blocked shots and 17 hits while averaging 19:33 of ice time.

Stone is one of several players who won't suit up for the Golden Knights during their first game following the Olympic break. The Golden Knights winger gave Canada a 3-1 lead just before the first intermission, with his tally proving to be the game-winner, before having a hand in goals by Sidney Crosby in the second period and Macklin Celebrini in the third. Stone is having a strong tournament in his first Olympics, scoring two goals and four points in three games, and he'll look to add to those totals when Canada faces the winner of a Czechia-Denmark qualifying tilt in Wednesday's quarterfinal.

Stone has cooled off following a 12-goal, 11-assist binge over 14 games from Dec. 29 to Jan. 23. He's earned just five helpers and seven shots over his last five outings. Even with the dip in production, Stone has an excellent 20 goals, 35 helpers, 88 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a plus-15 rating over 39 appearances. Staying healthy will be the big challenge, but if he can, he could push to top the career-best 73 points he produced between Vegas and Ottawa in 77 regular-season games in 2018-19.
