Hertl scored the overtime winner on the power play and added an even-strength assist in Wednesday's 4-3 victory over Detroit.
After having a hand in Mitch Marner's game-tying tally late in the third period, Marner returned the favor in OT, finding Hertl in space in front of Cam Talbot and giving the veteran room to work. It was Hertl's fourth GWG of the season, his best total in that category since 2021-22, and his 23 power-play points (13 goals, 10 assists) has tied the career high he set last season.

Hertl earned his 600th career point in his 850th regular-season contest. Hertl had picked up three assists during a five-game goal drought. Hertl kept the Golden Knights from being shut out with his power-play tally late in the second period. The 32-year-old center is now up to a three-game point streak and a run of play with 13 points over his last eight games. Overall, he has 20 goals, 43 points, 126 shots on net, 57 hits and 23 blocks through 48 outings this season. The 13-year veteran has ramped up his quality of play as of late and is back on track for the fifth 60-plus point regular season of his career. While he's been bumped down to a third-line role with Mitch Marner sliding into the second-line center spot amidst multiple injuries, Hertl hasn't lost much playing time, and he remains a strong fantasy option in most standard leagues.

Hertl scored a goal on two shots, added a power-play assist and logged two PIM in Thursday's 6-5 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
Hertl helped out on Pavel Dorofeyev's second goal of the game early in the third period before scoring the game-tying tally with seven seconds left in regulation. This was Hertl's fourth multi-point effort over the last six contests, and he has four goals and seven assists in that span. Hertl went ballistic on offense in this game against his former team. One goal and one assist came on the power play, but Hertl was effective in all areas during the massive performance. He's now at 18 goals, 39 points (16 on the power play), 120 shots on net, 55 hits and a minus-1 rating through 44 appearances. Since Hertl was traded to Vegas on March 8, 2024, he's racked up six goals and six assists over seven games against the Sharks, with nine of those points coming over four matchups in 2025-26.

Hertl snapped a two-game pointless skid with a solid performance across the board. He earned his first multi-point effort since he recorded three points in a loss to the Oilers on Dec. 21. Hertl has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 16 appearances since the beginning of December, and the 32-year-old will continue to have tons of opportunities to produce in a high-scoring offense despite holding a third-line role.
