Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Upgraded to day-to-day
Jones (foot) is now considered day-to-day but won't play against Washington on Tuesday, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
Jones has been out of the lineup since Nov. 14 versus the Kraken, a stretch of 14 games on the shelf that appears to be nearing its end. In 17 games this year, the Texas-born defenseman has generated two goals and eight helpers, including five power-play points. Once given the all-clear, Jones should retake his spot with the man advantage in addition to eating up plenty of minutes on the blue line.

Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Expected to miss around four weeks
Head coach Luke Richardson said Wednesday that Jones (foot) is expected to miss approximately four weeks, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports.
Jones was placed on injured reserve Saturday after suffering a right foot injury on a blocked shot against Seattle on Wednesday, and he was already expected to spend more than the minimum amount of time on injured reserve. The 30-year-old will likely be unavailable until mid-December, while Nolan Allan, Alec Martinez and Alex Vlasic will likely take on increased roles until Jones is able to return.

Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Will miss more than minimum time
Jones (foot) doesn't have a specific timeline to return but won't be ready when first eligible next Saturday versus the Flyers, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Without saying it outright, head coach Luke Richardson's update suggests Jones is somewhere in the week-to-week range. The Blackhawks will likely have to navigate without their top blueliner for the remainder of November. Look for Nolan Allan and Alec Martinez to take on increased minutes while Alex Vlasic figures to benefit from a spot on the top power-play unit.

Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Surfaces on IR
Jones (foot) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
According to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, Jones sustained a right foot injury on a blocked shot against Seattle on Wednesday. Jones' placement on IR will prevent him from playing in at least the next three games. He has registered two goals, eight assists, 38 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and 22 hits through 17 appearances this season. Due to Jones' absence, Nolan Allan will probably return to the lineup versus Vancouver on Saturday.

Jones is up to two goals, nine points (five on the power play), 31 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through 13 contests. Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Snaps dry spell with helper
Jones recorded an assist, two hits and three blocked shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.
Jones started the year strong, but some of the shine has started to come off after a four-game slump. He snapped that dry spell by helping out on Tyler Bertuzzi's game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation. Jones is up to eight points, 30 shots on net, 21 blocked shots, nine hits, six PIM and a minus-2 rating over 12 appearances this season. While his offense may falter at times, Jones is a lock to see huge minutes, giving him plenty of chances to rack up non-scoring production.

Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Logs helper in loss
Jones posted an assist, five shots on goal and two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres.
Jones continues to be one of the Blackhawks' better players. He has a goal and five assists over six contests, with his latest point being a secondary helper on the first of Craig Smith's two goals Saturday. Jones has added 21 shots on net, nine blocked shots, four PIM and a minus-1 rating while playing in a top-pairing role with a spot on the first power-play unit. The 30-year-old will struggle to live up to his $9.5 million cap hit, but fantasy managers can be happy if he approaches a 50-point pace while adding plenty of shots, hits and blocks without being too much of an anchor on the plus-minus rating.

Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Supplies assist in loss
Jones posted an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Flames.
Jones set up Nick Foligno's first-period tally. It's been a strong start to the year for Jones, who has a goal, four assists, 11 shots on net and six blocked shots across four contests. The 30-year-old defenseman is unlikely to maintain a point-per-game pace, but he is setting himself up well for a strong season as the Blackhawks look to take a collective step forward in their rebuild.

Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Racks up three points
Jones scored a goal on three shots, logged two assists, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Oilers.
All three of Jones' points came on the power play. If the Blackhawks can continue to make an impact with the man advantage, that bodes well for a bounce-back year from the 30-year-old defenseman. He's already earned four points, four blocked shots, seven shots on net and one hit over three contests in 2024-25.

Blackhawks' Seth Jones: Registers helper Tuesday
Jones logged an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Utah.
Jones helped out on a Teuvo Teravainen goal in the second period. The 30-year-old Jones is poised to see significant minutes once again for the Blackhawks, but he's had mixed results over his three years with the team. He's missed the 40-point mark in consecutive seasons, and he also failed to reach double digits in power-play production in 2023-24. The Blackhawks improved their roster this offseason, so there's a chance Jones can do better than his 31-point effort from 67 games last season, but he's likely to remain a tough player to roster in fantasy formats that count plus-minus rating.

Jones got the Blackhawks on the board late in the second period, but the Wild restored a two-goal advantage with Mats Zuccarello's power-play tally. Over three preseason games, Jones put up two points. The 30-year-old defenseman will open 2024-25 on the top pairing and see significant power-play usage, but he's missed the 40-point mark in four of the last five years and will likely also carry a horrendous plus-minus rating throughout the season.
