Mantha had a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win over Chicago on Thursday.
Mantha is on a bit of a roll. He has put up points (three goals, three assists) and fired six shots on net during his current three-game scoring streak, and he has eight points, including five assists, in his last five games. Mantha continues to flirt with a 60-point season, which would obliterate his previous career high in points (48 in both 2017-18 and 2018-19). That's incredible production for a third-line winger skating beside a rookie center (Ben Kindel).

Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Tallies twice in win
Mantha scored two goals on three shots in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Mantha's goals came 22 seconds apart in the first period. He ended an 11-game goal drought with the effort. During the slump, he was limited to five assists, three of which had come over his previous four contests. The veteran winger is now at 16 goals, 34 points, 94 shots on net, 28 hits, 24 blocked shots, 15 PIM and a plus-8 rating over 50 appearances. He's on track for the first 50-point campaign of his career.

Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Two points in Monday's win
Mantha notched two assists in Monday's 6-3 win over the Kraken.
The journeyman winger had a hand in tallies by Parker Wotherspoon in the first period and Justin Brazeau in the third. Mantha has yet to find the back of the net himself in January, but he's chipped in five assists, and he remains on pace for a career-best season with 14 goals and 32 points in 48 contests.

Mantha found the back of the net late in the first and second periods, with his goal in the first frame coming on the power play. The 31-year-old is playing in a top-six role and also sees time on the power play, so even though he's not the most prolific forward, he should continue to see lots of opportunities to produce. However, Mantha has never topped 25 goals or 48 points, reaching both marks back in 2018-19 for the Red Wings, and there's a reason the 31-year-old is on his fifth team in the last six seasons.

That's a physically challenging line to play against, and it's working out for the 4-2-0 Penguins in their unexpectedly strong start to the season.

Mantha's goal came on a deflected shot that caromed off a defender's stick. The 31-year-old has started 2025-26 in a top-six role for the Penguins after signing a one-year contract in early July. The winger missed most of last season due to ACL surgery, but he hasn't started slow, earning three points, five shots on net, five hits and a plus-2 rating over four appearances. Mantha put up 44 points between the Capitals and the Golden Knights in 2023-24, and that could be within his range of outcomes if he maintains a prominent role for Pittsburgh.

Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Set for 2025-26 campaign
Mantha (knee) expects to be 100 percent for the start of training camp, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Monday.
Mantha was limited to just 13 games for the Flames last season before his ACL injury ended his campaign early. Prior to getting hurt, the 30-year-old winger was putting up solid offensive numbers with four goals and three helpers. Barring any more offseason moves by the Penguins, Mantha should head into the 2025-26 campaign on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and is certainly capable of reaching the 20-goal threshold in that role -- though if Mantha does produce that well, general manager Kyle Dubas will almost certainly trade him at the deadline.
