Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Opens on top line
Anderson had one shot and six hits in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Penguins.
Anderson was the latest Montreal forward to skate on the top line alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. He joined a rotation that has included Juraj Slafkovsky, Kirby Dach and Emil Heineman. Anderson eventually swapped spots with Dach on Saturday and skated on the second line. Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis started the season with Slafkovsky on the top unit, which may be the most productive combination, but the coach has since dropped him to the second line in an effort to balance out scoring among the lines. Anderson's six hits raised his season total to 29 through 12 outings, second-most on the team.

Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Notches assist Sunday
Anderson logged an assist and three hits in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Flyers.
Anderson was questionable for this game after exiting Saturday's contest with a lower-body injury. The winger was able to play, logging 15:33 of ice time in his usual middle-six role. He contributed his third assist in four games. For the season, Anderson has four points, 14 shots on net, 18 hits, eight PIM and an even plus-minus rating over nine appearances. He can rack up hits and PIM, but he hasn't exceeded the 40-point mark in the last five seasons, so Anderson is a low-end fantasy option in most formats.

Anderson sustained a lower-body injury in Saturday's game versus the Blues, but he will travel to Philadelphia ahead of Sunday's contest, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

The assist was Anderson's second point of the season. He's filling a wing on the third line, but unlike previous campaigns in Montreal, Anderson isn't a regular on the power play. Through six outings, the forward has been on the ice for just 38 seconds when Montreal's on the man advantage.

Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Pockets first goal
Anderson scored a goal on two shots and had four hits in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Bruins.
Anderson changed the trajectory of a Kaiden Guhle shot from the point midway through the third period to make it a 5-3 score. It's a positive sign for the forward to have scored this early in the season; Anderson did not find the back of the net until the 24th game last year and scored just nine times (6.4 shooting percentage) over 78 games.

The goal snapped a 15-game pointless streak for Anderson, who now has just nine tallies and 10 assists through 74 games on the year.
