Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Sets up game-winner
Ekblad notched a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blues.
Ekblad has racked up five points, including a pair of power-play assists, over his last three contests. His assist Friday set up Aleksander Barkov on the game-winner at 4:43 of overtime. Ekblad remains on the top pairing for the Panthers, and his offense has taken a step forward since he returned to power-play duties. He's up to 19 points, 64 shots on net, 48 hits, 47 blocked shots, 33 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 34 appearances. The blueliner had just 18 points over 51 appearances in the 2023-24 regular season.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Shines in win over Minnesota
Ekblad recorded one goal and two assists, including one on the power play, in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Wild.
Ekblad posted his first multi-point performance since Nov. 29, when he recorded two assists in a 6-3 win over the Hurricanes. Additionally, he cracked the scoresheet in back-to-back contests for the first time since late November. Ekblad has scored double-digit goals in eight of his previous 10 seasons with the Panthers. However, there's a realistic chance he might not reach the 10-goal threshold for the second consecutive campaign in 2024-25, as he has only two goals across 33 appearances. Plus, his current 3.3 shooting percentage would be a career-worst mark for the 28-year-old.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Chips in with assist
Ekblad notched an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 6-5 win over the Oilers.
Ekblad ended a five-game drought when he helped out on Gustav Forsling's second-period tally. The 28-year-old Ekblad is now at 15 points, 57 shots on net, 47 hits, 47 blocked shots, 33 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 32 appearances. He's playing on the first pairing and first power-play unit, and he's well on his way to surpassing the 18 points he put up over 51 regular-season contests in 2023-24.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Finally gets first goal of season
Ekblad scored a goal Saturday in a 6-0 win over Carolina.
It was Ekblad's first regular-season goal since scoring against the Ottawa Senators on Feb. 20, 2024. He is currently on a three-game, four-point scoring streak (nine shots), and he has 13 points in 25 games this season. Ekblad may never replicate his 57 points in 61 games in 2021-22, but he's a solid fantasy play as a possible 40-plus point defender with a strong plus-minus, some production on the power play and the willingness to wire the puck from the point.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Notches assist in win
Ekblad recorded an assist, three shots on goal, two hits, seven PIM and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Jets.
Ekblad had endured a five-game drought after his three-assist game versus the Stars on Nov. 1. The 28-year-old defenseman has had limited offense so far with seven assists over 18 contests, and he's gotten on the scoresheet in just four games. He's added 24 shots on net, 21 PIM, 23 blocked shots, 30 hits and a plus-6 rating. Ekblad continues to fill a top-four role for the Panthers, so his offense should get more consistent over time.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Ends drought with two helpers
Ekblad picked up two assists in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Golden Knights.
The veteran blueliner had failed to record a point in five straight games, but Ekblad got off the schneid by helping set up Sam Reinhart in the second period and Eetu Luostarinen in the third. Adam Boqvist has been handling the point on the Panthers' top power-play unit but has just one assist through his first six contests this season -- Ekblad could reclaim that spot fairly quickly if the latter gets rolling.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Three helpers Saturday
Ekblad notched three assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's preseason win over the Kings.
The 28-year-old blueliner had a helper in every period, giving him a full head of steam heading into the regular season. Ekblad's had difficulty staying healthy in his career and is coming off a disappointing 2023-24 campaign in which he managed only four goals and 18 points in 51 regular-season games, but with Brandon Montour now in Seattle, the Panthers will be counting on Ekblad to bounce back in a big way this season.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Scores goal in win
Ekblad scored a goal on four shots in Monday's 4-1 victory over Edmonton in Game 2.
Ekblad was able to bring a 31-game goal drought to a close, having last found the back of the net Feb. 20 versus the Senators. The blueliner's fantasy value figures to primarily come from defensive stats -- he has racked up 13 hits and 16 blocks across his last five outings -- but adding some offensive production should bolster his outlook heading into Game 3 on Thursday.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Snags helper in win
Ekblad recorded an assist in Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Rangers in Game 5.
Ekblad was able to bring his six-game pointless streak to a close with his helper Thursday but remains mired in a 29-game goal drought dating back to Feb. 20 versus the Senators. While the blueliner should continue to register plenty of hits and blocks in the postseason, fantasy players probably shouldn't be banking on him suddenly producing points regularly.
