Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Scoring streak reaches four games
Larkin scored a power-play goal in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Larkin found the back of the net midway through the second period with a wrist shot after being set up by Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond. However, the equalizer wasn't enough to spark a comeback. Larkin has five goals over his last four appearances, and his nine goals rank first on the team through 13 games this season.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Scores, assists Wednesday
Larkin notched a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.
Larkin set up Alex DeBrincat's opener with two seconds left in the opening period, and he gave the Red Wings the lead for good midway through the second frame with a wrist shot. This was the second straight multi-point game for Larkin, something he hadn't achieved all season long, and he seems to be trending in the right direction after a somewhat slow start to the campaign. He's up to eight goals in 12 appearances thus far, though fantasy managers would welcome an uptick in the playmaking department since he has just two assists to his name.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Two PP tallies in win
Larkin scored two power-play goals, one the game-winner, in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Sabres.
The Red Wings captain was involved in all the offense on the night, and all three goals came on Detroit power plays. It was Larkin's giveaway in the neutral zone that sprung Alex Tuch for a shortie to open the scoring for Buffalo midway through the first period, but Detroit's captain redeemed himself by striking twice with the man advantage in the second frame. Larkin is up to seven goals in 11 games to begin the season, with five of them coming on the power play, but he's contributed only one assist.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Scores on power play
Larkin scored a power-play goal on two shots, added two PIM and went minus-3 in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Jets.
Larkin has three goals over his last six games, all of which have come on the power play. The 28-year-old center has had a sluggish start to the campaign with five tallies, one assist, 26 shots on net, six hits, 10 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances. He's shooting 19.2 percent, but Larkin can provide just about as well as he finishes, so look for him to make gains in assists as the season progresses.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Finds twine in win
Larkin scored his fourth goal of the season on the power play in Thursday's 5-3 win over New Jersey.
Larkin compiled three shots, two PIM, one hit, three takeaways and a plus-1 rating in 23:00 of ice time. Larkin has found the back of the net in four of seven games, but he hasn't registered an assist since Detroit's season-opener against Pittsburgh on Oct. 10. The left-shot center has scored at least 31 goals in each of the last three campaigns, and he could reach the 40-goal plateau for the first time in his career if he continues his current goal-scoring pace. Larkin has produced four goals, one assist and a plus-2 rating through seven outings.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Finds twine on power play
Larkin scored a power-play goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators.
Larkin has scored in three of the Red Wings' five games so far, with his tally Saturday being his first power-play point of the year. The 28-year-old center has four points, nine shots on net, four hits, four blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. While that's a fairly modest scoring pace, Larkin frequently ranks among the Red Wings' leaders in ice time, so he should be capable of being a bit more explosive on offense.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Scores lone goal in loss
Larkin scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.
Larkin scored for the second game in a row, this time tucking in a buzzer-beater at the end of the first period. The star center has two goals, one assist, five shots on net and four blocked shots through three contests. He's been just under a point-per-game pace over the last three seasons, so Larkin is a safe option as a borderline No. 1 fantasy center.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Deposits empty-netter
Larkin scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Predators.
Larkin has a goal, an assist, three shots on net and two blocked shots though the first two games of the season. The 28-year-old continues to center the top line and play on the top power-play unit, so he's in a position to succeed throughout the year. He'll likely have Alex DeBrincat on his left wing most of the time, but both Lucas Raymond and Patrick Kane have gotten looks as the top-line right wing early in the season.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Healthy at training camp
Larkin (upper body) is centering the first line at training camp Thursday, Max Bultman of The Athletic reports.
Larkin underwent offseason surgery in June but is healthy heading into the regular season. The Detroit captain had 33 goals, 36 assists, 221 shots on goal and 26 power-play points in 68 regular-season games last season. He is expected to play with Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond on what should be an outstanding top line in 2024-25.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Undergoes offseason surgery
Larkin (upper body) has undergone offseason surgery, but he's expected to be fine for the start of training camp in September, Sean Shapiro of EP Rinkside reports.
Larkin missed eight games in early March, but he returned to finished the regular season with 33 goals, 36 assists, 26 power-play points and 221 shots on goal in 68 appearances. Look for Larkin to center the top line with Lucas Raymond and Alex DeBrincat on his wings next season.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Unavailable for World Championship
Larkin won't represent Team USA at the 2024 IIHF World Championship because of an undisclosed injury, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Larkin will use the offseason to recover instead, which should put him on track to be available for training camp in the fall. He finished the 2023-24 season with 33 goals and 69 points in 68 appearances.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Sets bar higher in ninth season
Larkin finished with more points than games played for the first time in his nine-year career, adding 33 goals and 36 assists -- with 26 of those points on the power play -- across 68 contests in 2023-24.
A fierce competitor, Larkin fought to the bitter end of the regular season, and had it not been for the captain's late-season surge -- including two goals and five assists in the final four games -- the Wings wouldn't have had even the slightest hope for a playoff berth in those final moments of the 2023-24 campaign. Larkin appeared in five playoff games as a rookie in 2016, but the Wings haven't returned to the postseason since then. Staying healthy and solidifying his chemistry with Alex DeBrincat on the top line will be crucial steps in getting Larkin where he needs to be from both a fantasy standpoint and in terms of his playoff aspirations.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Captain Clutch
Larkin scored the overtime winner on the power play to complement an assist in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
This is an example of a captain showing up for the biggest moment of his entire season. A regulation loss would have been devastating to Detroit's playoff hopes, but Larkin's clutch contributions helped the team avoid a total meltdown after permitting three unanswered goals in the second period. Larkin seems to hover around a point-per-game pace year in and year out, with this season being no exception. The fleet-footed pivot has a career-high 33 goals to go along with 34 assists through 66 appearances. There are two games to go for the Wings in the regular season.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Three points in OT loss
Larkin scored a goal and added two assists in Thursday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Penguins.
He helped set up two of Lucas Raymond's three goals on the night, and Larkin's own tally midway through the third period sparked a rally from a 5-3 deficit that earned Detroit a potentially crucial point in the standings. Since returning from a lower-body injury, Larkin has racked up six goals and 11 points in the last 10 games, and he needs one more goal in the Red Wings' final three games to set a new career high with 33.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Dogged effort Saturday
Larkin battled through a knee injury but was able to finish Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Panthers, adding a power-play goal in the process.
Just 28 seconds into the contest, Larkin had to be helped off the ice after teammate Jeff Petry's blast from the blue line hit him on the knee and left the captain withering in pain. Larkin toughed it out and tied the game with four minutes to play in regulation. He needs just one more goal and another helper for a 30-30 season, but those numbers won't mean much to him as long as his team is outside the playoff picture. As of Sunday morning, the Wings are two points behind the Flyers for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Nets two goals in return
Larkin returned from a lower-body injury against the Islanders on Thursday, scoring two goals through 16:32 of ice time in a 6-3 win.
Larkin missed eight straight games before lacing his skates for this huge home win featuring his own even-strength tally in the second period and an empty-netter. The 27-year-old captain has a team-leading 28 goals to complement that same number of assists through 56 contests. Detroit won just two games while Larkin was out of commission -- fans of the Winged Wheel had been hoping the likes of Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat would've been able to hold down the fort. At any rate, the Original Six club holds the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with 12 games left in the regular season.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Expected to play Thursday
Larkin (lower body) took line rushes in warmups, putting him on track to return to the lineup Thursday versus the Islanders, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Larkin has missed eight games with the injury. The 27-year-old centered Lucas Raymond and David Perron in warmups, which suggests Larkin should be able to handle his usual top-line assignment. He's racked up 54 points over 55 outings this season.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Game-time call Thursday
Larkin (lower body) will be a game-time decision versus the Islanders on Thursday, Daniella Bruce of the Red Wings' official site reports.
Larkin could be ready to return from an eight-game absence due to his lower-body issue. At this point, if the 27-year-old center can't go Thursday, fantasy players can probably expect him back against Nashville on Saturday. Prior to his absence, Larkin notched three goals on 15 shots and four assists in his last eight outings. He'll retake his spot on the first line whenever he's cleared to play.
