The goal -- his 15th of the season -- stood as the winner. Raddysh seems to have come out of nowhere this season, but his skill has been there for a long time. While undrafted out of junior, Raddysh won the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the OHL's top defender in 2016-17. He currently sits sixth in the league in scoring with 47 points from the blue line; he's tied with Cale Makar for third in goals. Raddysh saw a six-game point streak end Tuesday in Pittsburgh, but it didn't take him long to get back on the scoresheet. He helped out on power-play tallies by Nikita Kucherov and Oliver Bjorkstrand in this contest. Raddysh continues to play a massive role, especially with the man advantage, in the absence of Victor Hedman (elbow). For the season, Raddysh has career highs in goals (12), points (41), power-play points (15) and plus-minus rating (plus-17) while adding 97 shots on net, 38 hits and 37 blocked shots across 40 appearances.

Raddysh has put up four straight multi-point games (four goals, five assists), and he has 13 shots and a plus-6 rating in that span. He has put up 36 points in as many games in his pinch-me-I'm-dreaming season. That's enough to put Raddysh in a tie with Miro Heiskanen for fifth overall from the blue line. Raddysh's 12 goals put him in a three-way tie with Cale Makar and Matthew Schaefer for third overall. There's no one who would have predicted this output from the 29-year-old undrafted defender, but Raddysh has stepped up large in the absence of Victor Hedman (elbow), who will be out until at least February.

It was Raddysh's first NHL hattie, and he became the third defenseman in franchise history to accomplish the feat, joining Dan Boyle (Dec. 23, 2006) and Doug Crossman (Nov. 7, 1992). Remarkably, he and brother Taylor Raddysh (Oct. 23, 2025) became the first set of brothers to each score a hat trick against the same team in more than 40 years when Quebec Nordiques teammates Marian (Oct. 21, 1982) and Peter Stastny (Dec. 11, 1982) did it against the Penguins. "It's pretty special," Raddysh said after the game.
