Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Cashes in with new deal
Reinhart's eight-year contract extension, which was agreed upon Sunday, will carry an overall value of $69 million, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Reinhart and the Panthers got this deal done just ahead of Sunday's deadline to allow him to secure that eighth season. Fresh off a Stanley Cup championship, the 28-year-old winger has played in all 82 regular-season games in the last two years -- including setting new career highs with goals (57) and points (94) during the 2023-24 campaign. Reinhart should be able to maintain elite-level production heading into the upcoming season, especially in his first-line and No. 1 power-play roles, though his shooting percentage figures to drop from last year's 24.5 percent mark.

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Secures eight-year extension
Reinhart and the Panthers agreed to an eight-year contract extension Sunday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports. The official details are expected to be announced Monday.
Reinhart was one of the key pieces of Florida's Stanley Cup run last season. He scored a career-high 57 goals, blazing past his previous career best of 33. Reinhart finished the regular season with 94 points -- including 34 on the man advantage -- while averaging 20:18 of ice time and playing in all 82 games. He then added 16 points in 24 postseason appearances. Reinhart will stay locked into a top-six spot with heavy power-play usage. In his three years with Florida, the 28-year-old winger ranks 11th in the NHL with 121 goals.

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Scores Cup-clinching goal
Reinhart scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and blocked three shots in Monday's 2-1 win over the Oilers in Game 7.
After a close call for the Oilers, Reinhart got out on a rush the other way and sniped home the decisive goal at 15:11 of the second period. While it wasn't the instant gratification of an overtime tally, Reinhart's goal ultimately sealed the Panthers' first Stanley Cup title. The 28-year-old concluded his best year yet with 10 goals and six assists over 24 playoff contests after posting 57 goals and 94 points in the regular season. He is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, though he'll likely be near the top of the list of players the Panthers attempt to re-sign.

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: One of each in win
Reinhart scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Oilers in Game 3.
Reinhart tipped home a Gustav Forsling shot to open the scoring late in the first period. In the second, Reinhart added a helper on Aleksander Barkov's goal, which ended up being the game-winner. Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Propels Panthers in thriller
Reinhart scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Tuesday's 3-2 win over New York in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Reinhart was the hero in South Florida on Tuesday night -- he buried a feed from Aleksander Barkov to send the series back to New York tied at two games apiece. It was Reinhart's fourth power-play goal of the postseason, three of which have come in the last two games. Reinhart has eight goals so far during the postseason which trails only Carter Verhaeghe (nine) for the lead for Florida. Reinhart is also tied for the team lead in power-play goals with four. The 28-year-old is fourth on the team in points during the postseason with eight goals and four assists in 15 appearances.

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Strikes twice on power play
Reinhart scored a pair of power-play goals on three shots and added three hits in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Rangers in Game 3.
Reinhart had 27 power-play tallies in the regular season, but these were just his second and third goals with the man advantage during the playoffs. The 28-year-old ended a three-game slump Sunday and is now at seven markers, 11 points, 58 shots on net, 34 hits, 21 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 14 playoff appearances. Even with the diminished offense, Reinhart's skill set makes him a threat for a big game at any moment, especially as he remains in his usual top-line and first power-play unit roles.
