Kings' Adrian Kempe: Carries offense in OT win
Kempe scored two goals and added an assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers.
The 29-year-old struck twice in the first period to give the Kings a 2-0 lead before feeding Quinton Byfield for the OT winner. Kempe ended January on a six-game point streak, and Saturday's scoring outburst puts him at 20 goals and 44 points through 53 contests on the season. This is the fifth straight regular season in which he's reached the 20-goal plateau.

Kings' Adrian Kempe: Tallies on power play in loss
Kempe scored a power-play goal on four shots and added three hits in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Sabres.
Kempe extended his point streak to five games (three goals, two assists). His goal at 7:47 of the second period denied Alex Lyon a shutout, but it was all the Kings could muster. Kempe continues to be a leader on offense with 18 goals, 41 points and 144 shots on net through 52 outings this season, but the Kings' scoring woes have taken a chunk out of his production. He's added 94 hits, 46 PIM and a plus-7 rating from his usual top-line spot.

Kempe scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.
Kempe has scored in consecutive games and now has four goals and two assists over 11 outings in January. While that's not great production, he at least looks to be building momentum. The 29-year-old forward is up to 17 goals, 38 points, 137 shots on net, 91 hits, 42 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 49 appearances in a top-line role this season.

Kempe scored a power-play goal on two shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Ducks.
Kempe has three goals and two assists over 10 outings in January. He hasn't posted a multi-point effort since Dec. 18, when he scored twice against the Lightning, though a lack of scoring is far from an individual problem given the Kings' recent play. Kempe is up to 16 goals, 37 points (seven on the power play), 133 shots on net, 90 hits, 42 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 48 appearances.

Kings' Adrian Kempe: First multi-goal game of season
Kempe scored twice in a 2-1 win over the Lightning on Thursday.
Both goals came in the second period. Kempe's first came in the second period when he skated into the offensive zone and beat Andrei Vasilevskiy with a wrist shot from distance. Kempe's second came after he intercepted a Lightning pass in his own zone and took off, ultimately scoring on a short breakaway with a nifty backhand deke around Vasilevskiy's left pad. It was Kempe's first multi-goal game of the season. He has 13 goals, 17 assists and 99 shots in 34 games, and he's on pace for his third consecutive 70-plus point season.

Kempe's point streak is up to four games (two goals, three assists). He opened the scoring at 11:10 of the first period, but the Kings weren't able to get another puck legally past Dustin Wolf -- they had a goal overturned for a distinct kicking motion in overtime. Kempe has 11 goals, 28 points, 94 shots on net, 57 hits, 17 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a plus-7 rating over 31 appearances this season in a top-line role.

Kings' Adrian Kempe: Multi-point effort in win
Kempe scored a goal, distributed an assist and picked up two PIM in Monday's 4-2 win over Utah.
Kempe lit the lamp for the Kings' first goal of the contest just under eight minutes into the opening period. He later had the primary helper on Anze Kopitar's game-winning tally. With the pair of points, Kempe is up to 10 goals, 16 assists, 87 shots on net and 56 hits through 29 games this season. The 29-year-old forward has put the offensive dry spell he experienced late in November behind him with six points in his last five games. He continues to lead Los Angeles in points, and his strong category coverage gives him a high ceiling in fantasy this season. Look for Kempe to contend for his third consecutive season scoring 70-plus points.

Kempe has three points over his last two games, making up for a stretch in which he was limited to one goal in six outings. Kempe scored the game-winning goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Canucks.
Kempe set up Anze Kopitar in the first period for the opening goal, then closed out the scoring himself at 3:58 of overtime. Kempe entered Saturday with no multi-point efforts since Oct. 23 versus the Stars. The winger had been limited to one goal over his last six games as well, so this was a big performance to break out of the slump. He's up to eight goals, 22 points, 81 shots on net, 48 hits, 16 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating across 25 appearances.

Kempe ended a six-game goal drought, and his tally came at a good time. He tied the game at 3-3 with 59 seconds left in regulation, helping the Kings earn a standings point in a contest where they never held a lead. The 29-year-old winger has gone 13 appearances without a multi-point effort, but his goal Thursday ended his first multi-game drought of the year. Kings' Adrian Kempe: Staying long term in LA
Kempe and the Kings are in agreement on an eight-year, $85 million contract extension, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Sunday.
Kempe was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this coming offseason, but he will instead stick around in Los Angeles long term on an eight-year extension with a $10.625 million AAV. The 29-year-old winger eclipsed 30 goals in three of the past four seasons, and he is off to a great start again this year with 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) through 19 games while skating on the first line and top power-play unit.
