Kings' Artemi Panarin: Will join team during break
Panarin (not injury related) will link up with the Kings on Feb. 18 to prepare for the post-Olympics part of the schedule, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.
Panarin won't play Wednesday versus the Kraken or Thursday versus the Golden Knights. He will more than likely make his Kings debut Feb. 25 versus the Golden Knights. Panarin was traded from the Rangers and signed a two-year, $22 million extension with Los Angeles on Wednesday, and he'll take on a top-six role once he makes his debut.

Kings' Artemi Panarin: Inks two-year extension
Panarin (not injury related) signed a two-year, $22 million contract extension with the Kings on Wednesday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Los Angeles acquired Panarin from the Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for Liam Greentree and a conditional 2026 third-round pick. Panarin is in the final season of a seven-year, $81.5 million contract, and the Rangers will retain 50 percent of his remaining cap hit as part of the trade. The third-round pick New York received will become a second-rounder if the Kings win at least one playoff series this year. If LA wins at least two postseason series this year, then the Rangers will also get a 2028 fourth-round selection. Panarin is unlikely to make his Kings debut versus Seattle on Wednesday, but he might play Thursday in Vegas.

Kings' Artemi Panarin: Flipped in trade
Panarin was traded to the Kings on Wednesday in exchange for Liam Greentree and a conditional third-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Panarin needs just one more tally to reach the 20-goal threshold for a fifth straight regular season and the 10th time in his NHL career. With his move to Kings, the veteran winger should immediately slot into a first-line role while also linking up with the No. 1 power-play unit. On a more competitive team than the Rangers, Panarin might still have enough time to challenge for the 40-goal mark, though he'll face an uphill battle.

Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Being held out Wednesday
Panarin (not injury related) won't play Wednesday versus the Islanders for roster-management reasons, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Panarin is also not expected to play before the Olympic break. In reality, this likely spells the end of Panarin's time as a Ranger, as the team has already committed to not having him beyond this season. A potential trade destination is unclear, but a new contract extension could be part of the star forward signing off on any move, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports. Panarin has 19 goals and 57 points over 52 appearances this season. Fantasy managers will need to pivot to a secondary plan until a resolution to Panarin's situation arrives.

Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Game-time call Thursday
Panarin will be a game-time decision versus the Blues on Thursday due to illness, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Panarin's absence would be a huge blow for the Rangers, as they would lose a top-line winger and a player from their No. 1 power-play unit. If the Russian winger does miss out, J.T. Miller would be a candidate to move up to the first line, while Will Cuylle could also be under consideration. In his 35 appearances this year, Panarin has racked up 11 goals and 23 helpers, including eight power-play points.
