  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Tallies again Thursday

Vesey scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Sharks. Vesey has two goals over his last three games, which is all of his scoring production through five appearances. The 31-year-old has resumed his role as a bottom-six fixture for the Rangers after recovering from a lower-body injury that kept him out for all of October. The winger has added eight shots on net, six hits and two blocked shots, and he can add a little physicality in addition to his depth scoring.

Vesey (lower body) was activated from long-term injured reserve Saturday, according to Dan Rosen of NHL.com. After missing the first 10 games of the 2024-25 campaign, Vesey will make his season debut against the Islanders on Sunday. The Rangers returned Matt Rempe to AHL Hartford on Saturday in a corresponding move. The 31-year-old Vesey registered 13 goals, 26 points, 116 shots on net and 90 hits across 80 regular-season outings in 2023-24. He will occupy a bottom-six role versus the Islanders.

Vesey will see bottom-six minutes when he is healthy enough to return to action.

Vesey (lower body) skated on his own Friday morning, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports. Vesey was placed on long-term injured reserve Monday and will not be able to return to the Rangers lineup for the first 10 games of the season. The 31-year-old will garner a bottom-six role upon his return.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Headed for long-term IR

Vesey (lower body) will be placed on long-term injured reserve by the Rangers on Monday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. Vesey was already expected to miss some time due to his lower-body injury but his placement on LTIR will keep him out of the lineup for at least the first 10 games of the campaign. With his stint on the shelf, the Boston native could be in danger of missing the 25-point threshold for the first time in three seasons.

Vesey (upper body) is at practice Saturday in a non-contact jersey, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. Vesey was injured eight days ago in Game 2 against Florida on May 24 and was deemed week-to-week. The 31-year-old winger has a goal and two assists through 12 appearances this postseason.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Deemed week-to-week

Vesey (upper body) is considered week-to-week, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post. Vesey was able to accompany the team to Florida ahead of Sunday's Game 3, but it's unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. He was injured in the second period of Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Panthers in Game 2 after taking a hit from Ryan Lomberg. The 30-year-old Vesey has one goal and two assists in 12 outings this postseason. Blake Wheeler, Kaapo Kakko or Jonny Brodzinski could replace Vesey in Sunday's lineup versus Florida.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Exits Friday's contest

Vesey (upper body) was injured during Game 2 against Florida on Friday. Vesey blocked one shot in 5:47 of ice time before leaving the game. • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Collects helper

Vesey notched an assist in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4. The 30-year-old winger hadn't gotten on the scoresheet since the first game of the first round versus the Capitals. Vesey is up to three points, seven shots on net, eight hits and six blocked shots over eight playoff contests. He's still in a fourth-line role, so he's unlikely to be a steady contributor on offense.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Scores, adds assist in Game 1 win

Vesey scored a goal and assisted on another during Sunday's 4-1 win over the Capitals in Game 1. Vesey also posted a plus-2 rating, making the most of his 11:48 of ice time. It's a great start, but Sunday's production isn't necessarily predictive of what's to come. Through 19 postseason contests prior to Sunday, he had just one goal, six points and 20 shots.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Tallies in win

Vesey scored a goal on his only shot in Saturday's 4-0 victory over the Blues. Vesey extended New York's lead to 2-0 in the closing seconds of the first period, beating Jordan Binnington with a wrister off the rush. It's the first goal since Feb. 12 for Vesey, who had just two assists in his previous nine games. The 30-year-old winger is up to 13 goals and 20 points through 61 games this season. With the newly acquired Jack Roslovic joining Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider on the Rangers' top line, Vesey will likely settle for a fourth-line role going forward.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Pots empty-net goal

Vesey scored into an empty net on Monday, capping off a 2-0 win over the Flames. Vesey has scored three goals in his last three games, but it's a trend that might not continue. In his last four games, he has just three shots and has topped out at 13:16 of ice time. He hasn't played more than 14:35 in his last 12 contests, which is a product of his fourth-line role in a strong Rangers offense.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Lights lamp twice against Tampa

Vesey scored two goals on two shots with a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Lightning. The Rangers' checking lines carried the offense on the night and gave the stars a break, as Vesey scored the team's first and last goals while Jonny Brodzinski potted the game-winner. Vesey had found the back of the net just once in his prior 13 games, but on the season the 30-year-old winger has 11 goals in 49 games. The winger is on pace to match or even top the career-high 17 he's reached twice, the last time coming in the 2018-19 campaign.

Vesey had one blocked shot and a minus-1 rating in Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Avalanche. The Rangers notched a thrilling victory in their first action after the All-Star break, but Vesey didn't contribute much to the win. Only Vesey (9:14) and Tyler Pitlick (7:59) skated fewer than 10 minutes for the Blueshirts in Monday's game, and their line with Barclay Goodrow was on the ice for Colorado's lone goal of the night. Vesey has gone four contests without a point, leaving him stuck on nine goals and five assists this season.

Vesey is enjoying a solid eighth NHL season in a bottom-six role, as he's on pace to challenge the career high of 17 goals he set in 2017-18 and matched the following season during his first stint on Broadway.
