  • Flyers' Anthony Richard: Nets goal in shootout loss

Richard scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Panthers. This was Richard's second game since he was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday. The 27-year-old is unlikely to be a long-term part of the Flyers' lineup, but he's playing well enough in a limited role to put pressure on other players. He's been in the lineup over prized rookie Matvei Michkov the last two games, with Richard putting up a goal, four shots on net and three hits in that span.

  • Canadiens' Anthony Richard: Scores first NHL goal

Richard scored a goal on his lone shot on net in Montreal's 2-1 overtime loss to Colorado on Wednesday. He added one hit and two penalty minutes over 9:44 of ice time. Richard's marker came just 1:48 into the game, but Montreal didn't build off that early edge. It was his first goal in two contests this season, as well as his first career NHL point. His hooking penalty early in the third period led to Colorado's power-play goal that tied the contest. Unlike his first game, when Richard skated at times on the second line, he remained on the fourth line Wednesday. Unless Montreal gives Richard a bigger role, the 26-year-old shouldn't be expected to make regular offensive contributions.
