Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Moves to IR
Demko (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.
Demko will be out for at least the next four games, starting with Monday's road matchup against Montreal, after being injured in Saturday's 5-0 loss to Toronto. However, it's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup. The Canucks recalled Nikita Tolopilo from AHL Abbotsford on Sunday under emergency conditions to serve as Kevin Lankinen's backup during Demko's absence.

Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Exits with injury
Demko sustained a lower-body injury Saturday versus the Maple Leafs and will be evaluated over the coming days, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Given Demko's lengthy history of lower-body issues, this is not an encouraging development. He should be considered doubtful for Monday's game in Montreal and Tuesday's game in Ottawa at this point, though a clearer timeline may emerge once Demko's evaluation is completed. The Canucks are likely to call up a goalie from AHL Abbotsford to share the crease with Kevin Lankinen while Demko is out. Demko gave up three goals on six shots in the first period Saturday en route to the loss.

Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Falters against Flyers
Demko allowed four goals on 31 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flyers. The last two goals were empty-netters.
The Canucks kept the puck away from Demko early in the game, but the 30-year-old netminder couldn't keep up when the Flyers found their feet. This was Demko's third straight loss, and he's allowed 13 goals on 105 shots in that span. He's now at an 8-8-0 record with a 2.72 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 17 appearances. With the win, he now has a 6-5-0 record with a 2.67 GAA and a .903 save percentage through 12 appearances this season. Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Takes loss in return
Demko stopped 12 of 15 shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Sabres.
Demko missed 12 games due to a lower-body injury, and he wasn't very good against a light workload Thursday. The 30-year-old's injury history is lengthy and well-documented, and his chances of wins aren't looking good on a team that is languishing at the bottom of the standings. He's posted a 5-5-0 record with a 2.83 GAA and an .898 save percentage over 11 starts. Expect the Canucks to try to ease Demko in by having him split the workload with Kevin Lankinen for a while. A starting goalie for Sunday's game versus the Devils hasn't been announced yet.
