Wild's Marco Rossi: Game taking another step forward
Rossi scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary.
Rossi was Mr. Clutch, scoring a five-hole goal with 34 seconds left in the third period to force overtime. He's taken the next step this season after putting up 40 points in 82 regular-season games in 2023-24. So far, Rossi has 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) and 37 shots in 20 appearances this campaign, and he's starting to contribute on the power play. His assist came with the man advantage, where he has three points in his last seven outings. He won't deliver many hits or blocks, and he's still working at improving on faceoffs, but Rossi might be on the verge of fulfilling his draft-day promise as a top-10 pick.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Strikes on power play
Rossi scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Canadiens. He also had two shots on net and two PIM.
Rossi took advantage of a tired PK unit when he scored with four seconds remaining on a four-minute double minor. The man-advantage marker was his first of the season and gave Minnesota breathing room with 12 minutes left in the third period. Although the Wild had comfortably outplayed Montreal, it was still a 1-0 game and any weird bounce could tie it up. Rossi's up to five goals, nine assists, two power-play points, 32 shots, 10 PIM and is plus-5 through 16 appearances.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Two more points in win
Rossi scored a goal on six shots and added a power-play assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Ducks.
Rossi snapped a seven-game goal drought when he buried a feed from Kirill Kaprizov in the third period. A few minutes later, Rossi returned the favor to set up Kaprizov's second goal of the contest. Rossi took a few shifts on the fourth line in this game, but his return to a more prominent role by the end of the night is encouraging for his long-term usage. He's been steady on offense with four goals, 13 points, 25 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 14 appearances this season.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Helpers in three straight games
Rossi logged an assist, three hits and two PIM in Sunday's 2-1 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.

Playing on the top line gives Rossi serious breakout potential in his second full NHL campaign, and he's scoring enough to help in virtually all fantasy formats.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Generates assist in win
Rossi notched an assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 5-3 win over the Lightning.

The 23-year-old center has gotten on the scoresheet in eight of 10 contests, earning three goals, six assists, 16 shots on net and a plus-5 rating. Ryan Hartman (upper body) returned to the lineup in a fourth-line role Friday, and as long as he stays there, Rossi's top-six job should be safe.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Manages helper
Rossi logged an assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Penguins.
Rossi has gone three games without a goal, but he has two assists in that span. The 23-year-old continues to hold onto a top-six role, though he's seeing time on the second power-play unit. Rossi has been steady so far with eight points (all at even strength), 14 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over nine contests. His stable offense has helped the Wild to a 6-1-2 start, and that's with Ryan Hartman (upper body) missing the last five contests.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Goals in back-to-back games
Rossi scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

The 23-year-old center has added three assists, 12 shots on net, three hits and a plus-5 rating. While Joel Eriksson Ek (nose) returned to the lineup Saturday, Rossi remained on the top line at even strength, and that makes him an intriguing option for fantasy managers in need of center depth.

Rossi provided two assists to go along with four shots and two hits in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Kraken.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Pair of points in win
Rossi scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Friday's 6-1 preseason win over the Blackhawks.
Rossi began the game as the first-line center, but Joel Eriksson Ek also saw time in that role. However, it was on the power play where Rossi made his impact. He scored the opening goal late in a double-minor to Patrick Maroon in the first period, and he then helped out on a Mats Zuccarello tally late in the second. Regardless of which line he's on, Rossi is poised to be a major contributor for the Wild this year after generating 40 points in 82 regular-season appearances as a rookie last season.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Lights lamp twice in OT loss
Rossi scored two goals in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Blues.
Both goals came in the second period as the Wild grabbed a 3-2 lead, only to see it slip away late. This performance snapped Rossi out of a slump that had seen the 22-year-old manage only one goal and two points over the prior 14 games, and his second tally Saturday gave him 20 on the season. If the Wild are going to move into a playoff spot over the final weeks of the regular season, they'll probably need Rossi to get hot.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Garners helper
Rossi recorded an assist in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.
Rossi had gone ice cold with a 10-game point drought entering Thursday. That likely explains why Ryan Hartman was promoted to the top line to fill in for Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body). Rossi has had some ups and downs in his first full campaign, but he's at 34 points, 138 shots on net, 45 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 67 appearances. The 22-year-old is likely to remain in a top-six role -- he's been the second-line center in recent weeks.

Rossi provided a bright spot in an otherwise tough night for the Wild -- the 22-year-old center got Minnesota on the board with a power-play goal in the second period before cutting the Jets' lead to 5-3 late in the third, deflecting a Kirill Kaprizov shot past Laurent Brossoit. Rossi now has points in three straight games and five (four goals, one assist) in his last five contests. He's up to 17 goals and 33 points through 56 outings in his first full NHL season.
