Vikman, a 2027 third-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick were traded to the Capitals from the Golden Knights on Thursday in exchange for Nic Dowd.
Vikman has yet to make his NHL debut, but he's appeared in 18 games for AHL Henderson this year, going 8-7-3 with a 3.41 GAA and .866 save percentage. The netminder will presumably head to AHL Hershey following Thursday's deal.

Golden Knights' Jesper Vikman: Sent back to AHL
Rotowire
Vikman has been re-assigned to AHL Henderson by the Golden Knights, the team announced Sunday.
Vikman was called up for one game to serve as the backup goaltender to Akira Schmid. The fact that he's being sent down already seems to be a good sign for the health of Carter Hart (lower body), who is day-to-day. The 23-year-old Vikman will return to the AHL, where he's 4-4-0 with a 3.40 GAA and an .871 save percentage.

Golden Knights' Jesper Vikman: Called up from minors
Rotowire
Vikman was recalled from AHL Henderson on Friday.
Vikman's elevation to the NHL roster would seem to indicate that Akira Schmid or Carter Hart will not be available to face the Devils on Friday, though perhaps the team is just adding another goalie for its five-game East Coast road trip. Even with Vikman's promotion, he's far from guaranteed to see any minutes, considering there are no back-to-backs on this trip.
