Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Moves past injury
Kuznetsov (upper body) will be a healthy scratch for Monday's game in Colorado, per Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.
Kuznetsov hasn't been in the lineup since March 14 versus the Islanders. Joel Hanley (upper body) will miss the rest of the 2025-26 campaign, so Kuznetsov is currently the Flames' seventh blueliner, but it remains to be seen when he'll get back into the lineup. Calgary's next game is Thursday in Vegas.

Kuznetsov is reportedly still dealing with his upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports Friday.
The nature of Kuznetsov's status has been rather unclear of late, as he has also been listed as a healthy scratch based on other reports. Either way, the 24-year-old blueliner has been out of the lineup for six straight games and figures to be questionable, at best, heading into Saturday's matchup with Vancouver.

Kuznetsov (upper body) will be a healthy scratch versus the Ducks on Thursday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Kuznetsov missed time with an upper-body injury, having last played March 14 versus the Islanders, but he has at least been upgraded to the healthy scratch category. At this point, fantasy managers will have to take a wait-and-see approach for when he might get back into the lineup.

Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Set to remain out versus Cats
Kuznetsov (upper body) is expected to continue to miss out versus Florida on Friday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Kuznetsov will be out of action for his third straight game due to his upper-body problem. Given his offensive limitations, Kuznetsov's absence is unlikely to impact the majority of fantasy players.

Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Garners assist Monday
Kuznetsov logged a shorthanded assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Capitals.
Kuznetsov has stepped up into a steady top-four role since the Flames offloaded two defensemen in the lead-up to the trade deadline. The 23-year-old plays more of a shutdown role, so he isn't likely to be a strong target in fantasy. He has 11 points, 54 shots on net, 70 hits, 85 blocked shots, 28 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 49 appearances.

Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Pots goal in Saturday's win
Kuznetsov scored a goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Islanders.
Kuznetsov ended a six-game point drought with the tally. The 23-year-old defenseman has proven himself capable in his own zone, but there still isn't a lot of offense in his game. He's at four goals, five assists, 35 shots on net, 46 hits, 53 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 34 appearances. Kuznetsov could take on a larger role in the event Rasmus Andersson is traded, though Andersson's power-play minutes are more likely to go to Hunter Brzustewicz or Zayne Parekh in the long run.

Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Registers helper in season debut
Kuznetsov logged an assist, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Blue Jackets.
Kuznetsov's helper was his first point in his second NHL contest. It was his first outing with the big club in 2025-26 after he put up two goals in 10 games with AHL Calgary prior to his Tuesday call-up. Kuznetsov is with the big club to apply some pressure for third-pairing minutes, mainly in competition with fellow left-shot blueliner Jake Bean, but also to keep Zayne Parekh and Brayden Pachal honest as well. Should Kuznetsov play well over an extended stretch, he could help bolster a weak spot in the Flames' lineup.
