Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Undergoes knee surgery
Kuzmenko underwent knee surgery for a torn meniscus and is on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.
Kuzmenko is regarded as week-to-week, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's out for quite a while. The 30-year-old has 13 goals and 25 points in 52 outings in 2025-26. The Kings recalled defenseman Angus Booth from AHL Ontario to fill the roster spot created by putting Kuzmenko on IR.

Kuzmenko is considered day-to-day, so he still might be an option Saturday versus Calgary. He has 13 goals and 25 points in 52 outings in 2025-26. Taylor Ward and Jeff Malott are expected to draw back into the lineup, while Samuel Helenius will be a healthy scratch after playing Wednesday versus Vegas.

Kuzmenko (upper body) is in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Golden Knights, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Kuzmenko was hurt in the last game before the Olympic break, but the injury wasn't serious enough to cost him more time. He'll play on the third line with Alex Turcotte and Warren Foegele.

Kuzmenko was initially injured in the first period. He made a brief return in the second but left for good prior to the third. The 30-year-old's injury comes at a decent time, as he'll have until Feb. 25 before the Kings are back in action for a rematch with Vegas.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Scores two goals on birthday
Kuzmenko scored a pair of power-play goal on four shots in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken.
Kuzmenko celebrated his 30th birthday with his first multi-point effort since Jan. 5 versus the Wild. While he had a good performance, the rest of the Kings couldn't say the same. Kuzmenko is currently in a middle-six role, though it's his power-play time that could spark his offense. For the season, the winger has 13 goals, 23 points, 68 shots on net and a minus-4 rating over 50 appearances, with 13 of his points coming on the power play.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Five points in last five games
Kuzmenko had a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in a 5-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday.
The second power-play unit, which includes Kuzmenko, received high praise from head coach Jim Hiller after the game: "That group, in particular, is moving it well and they feel dangerous, as dangerous as we've been all year." Thursday was the first time this season that the Kings scored multiple power-play goals in a game. They were the only team in the NHL to not have done so. Kuzmenko, who has really scuffled this season, may finally be warming up. He has five points, including three goals, in his last five games, and three of those points (one goal, two helpers) have come on the power play. Prior to that, Kuzmenko had just nine points (five goals, four assists) in his previous 29 games.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Goals in back-to-back games
Kuzmenko scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Kraken.
Kuzmenko has scored in consecutive contests, and he has four tallies over his last seven outings. The 29-year-old winger was a healthy scratch at times in November and December, but continuing to contribute offensively should help him stay in the lineup. He's now at seven goals, 11 points, 42 shots on net, 18 hits and a minus-3 rating over 31 appearances. Kuzmenko is still tough to trust in fantasy until he can prove himself over a longer stretch.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Pots goal vs. Blue Jackets
Kuzmenko scored a goal in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Kuzmenko has found the back of the net in two of his last four games. Despite holding a bottom-six role, the 29-year-old winger has found ways to produce -- he has six goals and 10 points in 30 appearances this season.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Scores PP goal vs. Dallas
Kuzmenko scored a power-play goal in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Stars.
Kuzmenko found the back of the net at the 11:03 mark of the second period to give the Kings a 1-0 lead, but the Stars would turn things around after scoring four unanswered goals the rest of the way. This was Kuzmenko's fifth goal of the season, and it's worth noting that four of those have come on the power play. Through 27 appearances, the 29-year-old winger has nine points (five goals, four assists), so he shouldn't carry a lot of upside even if he plays as a top-six forward.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Tallies on power play
Kuzmenko scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Blackhawks.
Kuzmenko ended an 11-game point drought with the second-period tally. In that stretch, he was also scratched three times. The 29-year-old's pattern of initially dominating with a team and then fading into inconsistency has continued with the Kings, who are currently deploying him on the fourth line and second power-play unit. He has just four goals, four assists, 33 shots on net, 17 hits and a minus-3 rating across 25 outings this year.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Breaks up shutout bid
Kuzmenko scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Devils.
Kuzmenko scored at 9:49 of the third period to break up Jacob Markstrom's shutout bid. The tally ended a three-game point drought for Kuzmenko. The 29-year-old winger has been fine on offense early in 2025-26, posting three goals, four assists, 19 shots on net, 13 hits and a plus-2 rating over 13 appearances. He's still in a top-line role and can go on hot streaks, so there's some upside for fantasy managers in search of offense.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Strikes on power play
Kuzmenko scored a power-play goal on two shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Kuzmenko has two power-play goals and four total points through six games this season. The absence of Anze Kopitar (foot, week-to-week) won't help Kuzmenko's productivity, though the Kings as a whole have been somewhat underwhelming so far. In addition to his four points, the 29-year-old winger has accumulated nine shots on net, nine hits and a plus-1 rating while seeing top-six minutes and power-play time. He won't stay that physical all season, but he should provide decent offense.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Provides pair of points
Kuzmenko scored a power-play goal on two shots, added an assist and logged two hits in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
Kuzmenko opened the scoring just 4:41 into the game, and he had a hand in Brandt Clarke's game-tying goal in the third period. However, after the tying goal, Kuzmenko received just two shifts. The 29-year-old is penciled in on the top line and showed some talent late in 2024-25 in that spot alongside Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe. Kuzmenko will need to showcase his skill without dipping in performance, as head coach Jim Hiller could give another winger a look in his spot if he slumps too long at any point in the year.

Kuzmenko had 11 goals, 37 points and 83 shots on net in 66 regular-season appearances with LA, Calgary and Philadelphia in 2024-25. He was a solid fit with the Kings, supplying five goals and 17 points in 22 regular-season outings before adding three tallies and three helpers in six playoff appearances. Kuzmenko will probably see time on the top line and the first power-play unit in the 2025-26 campaign.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Nets lone goal in loss
Kuzmenko scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 5.
Kuzmenko was silenced for the previous two games in Edmonton. He responded with the opening tally early in the second period Tuesday, but that was all the Kings could muster against Calvin Pickard in Game 5. Kuzmenko has three goals, three assists, 14 shots on net, five hits and a minus-3 rating over five playoff outings. He's earned four of his six points this postseason while on the power play.
