  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Secures two-year extension

Texier signed a two-year, $5 million contract extension with the Canadiens on Wednesday, PuckPedia reports. While Texier got off to a slow start as he struggled to carve out a consistent role with the Canadiens, he has flourished over the past month in a spot on the top line next to Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki. Over Texier's last eight games, he has four multi-point performances, including back-to-back three-point games Jan. 7 and 8. Overall, the 26-year-old forward has seven goals, 10 assists, 50 shots on net and 32 hits across 33 appearances this season. He'll likely continue to play big minutes for the Canadiens during the team's push for a playoff spot in the competitive Atlantic Division.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Contributes two helpers

Texier notched two assists and two shots on goal in Monday's 6-3 win over the Canucks. Texier now has four multi-point efforts over seven games in January, earning four goals and six assists so far this month. The 26-year-old is clearly benefiting from his even-strength role alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, as well as a spot on the top power-play unit. Texier is up to a total of 17 points, 48 shots on net, 30 hits and a plus-7 rating over 32 appearances between the Canadiens and the Blues this season, but 16 of those points have come since he joined Montreal.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Six points in last two games

Texier put up three goals Thursday in a 6-2 win over the Panthers. It was his first NHL hat trick. There must be something in the water because Texier has exploded with back-to-back three-point games (four goals, two assists). His first snipe Thursday stood as the game winner. Getting out of St. Louis and onto Montreal's first line has breathed new life into this guy.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Three-point effort Wednesday

Texier scored a goal and added two assists in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames. After a scoreless first period, Texier opened the scoring by out-waiting Dustin Wolf, letting the Calgary netminder go down into his butterfly before tucking the puck over his shoulder from a sharp angle. The three points were a season high for Texier, and he's making an impact while skating on the top line at even strength alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, picking up a goal and five points over the last four games.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Earns pair of helpers

Texier logged two assists, two shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Hurricanes. Texier ended a six-game slump with the pair of helpers. He set up Nick Suzuki at 3:10 of the first period on the opening goal, and Texier also found Cole Caufield for a second-period tally. The 26-year-old Texier is the latest player to get a look on the top line, though that spot on the right side of Suzuki and Caufield has been a revolving door for much of the year. Through 18 appearances with the Canadiens, Texier has eight points, compared to one helper in eight contests with the Blues earlier in the season.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: In warmups Sunday

Texier took warmups and will play Sunday against the Lightning, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports. Texier left Tuesday's game against the Bruins before the holiday break early and didn't finish it, but he is back in the lineup Sunday with no games missed. The 26-year-old was skating on the third line with Phillip Danault and Josh Anderson. He has six points (three goals, three assists) in 15 games as a Canadien since signing mid-season following his release from the Blues.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Exits Tuesday's game

Texier (upper body) won't finish Tuesday's game versus the Bruins. Texier was ruled out after the second intermission. If it's just a minor injury, he may not have to miss time. The holiday break means the Canadiens won't be in action again until Sunday versus the Lightning.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Scores against Philadelphia

Texier scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Flyers. Texier opened the scoring in the first period, but Montreal's lead lasted precisely 39 seconds before Carl Grundstrom scored to even things up. Montreal would end up giving up four unanswered goals en route to a loss. Texier has three goals, six points, 16 shots on net and 10 hits in 11 games with the Canadiens.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Puts away goal in win

Texier scored a goal in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Penguins. This was Texier's first goal with the Canadiens. He's earned three points over eight games since signing with Montreal following his unconditional release from the Blues. Texier has a total of four points, 15 shots on net, 14 hits and a minus-3 rating over 16 appearances this season, so he's unlikely to produce enough offense to be a factor in fantasy, though he is getting steadier playing time with the Canadiens.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: First helper with new team

Texier logged an assist in Friday's 4-1 win over the Golden Knights. Texier was waived unconditionally by the Blues last Saturday and linked up with the Canadiens on a one-year deal a day later. This was his Montreal debut, and he picked up a helper in 13:41 of ice time. The 26-year-old has struggled in recent years to establish himself as a full-time NHL option -- he's played in more than 50 games just once in his first six campaigns. He's earned two helpers, eight shots on net and 10 hits over nine outings this season, but fantasy managers can afford to wait and see if he'll be a good fit for the Canadiens.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Signs one-year deal

Texier signed a one-year, $1 million contract with Montreal on Sunday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports. Texier didn't have to wait long to land with a new team after having the final season of his two-year, $4.2 million contract terminated by the Blues on Sunday. He has earned one assist, seven shots on net, one blocked shot and nine hits across eight appearances this season. Injuries to Kirby Dach (foot), Alex Newhook (ankle) and Patrik Laine (abdomen) should give Texier a chance to earn a regular spot in the lineup with the Canadiens.

  • Alexandre Texier: Lands on unconditional waivers

Texier was placed on unconditional waivers by St. Louis on Saturday to terminate his contract, per Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press. Assuming he clears, Texier will become an unrestricted free agent. He has provided one assist, seven shots on goal, one blocked shot and nine hits across eight appearances with St. Louis this season.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Set to be waived

Texier is slated to be waived by the Blues on Thursday, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports. Jake Neighbours (leg) is expected to return to the lineup Thursday against the Flyers, and Texier is set to lose his spot on the Blues' roster as a result. However, if Texier clears waivers, he's expected to be assigned to AHL Springfield. Over eight appearances with the Blues this year, Texier has recorded an assist, nine hits, a blocked shot and two PIM while averaging 10:15 of ice time.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Logs assist in win

Texier notched an assist in Monday's 5-2 win over the Canucks. Texier has gotten to play the last two games while Alexei Toropchenko (upper body) has been sidelined. The 26-year-old Texier is likely to be a rotational option on the fourth line throughout the year, offering minimal fantasy value. He put up 11 points over 31 regular-season outings in a similar role last year.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Manages helper Sunday

Texier logged an assist and three hits in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Jets in Game 4. Texier has earned two shots on net, seven hits and a plus-1 rating over his two playoff appearances. His spot in the lineup isn't safe -- Mathieu Joseph is in the mix as well, and both players could end up in the press box if the Blues' postseason run is long enough to allow Dylan Holloway (lower body) to return. After a regular season with just 11 points, 50 shots on net and 20 hits over 31 games, Texier has minimal scoring upside for fantasy.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Available to return

Texier (upper body) will be an option for Tuesday's regular-season finale against Utah, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Texier missed the last four games due to injury, but he has been a healthy scratch frequently this season. In 31 appearances this season, he has provided six goals, 11 points, 50 shots on net and 20 hits.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Not playing Saturday

Texier (upper body) won't play against Seattle on Saturday, per Lou Korac of The Hockey News. Texier will miss his fourth straight game due to injury, but he hasn't been in the lineup since March 27 against Nashville. He has contributed six goals, 11 points, 50 shots on net and 20 hits across 31 appearances this season. It's unclear if Texier will be ready to play against Utah on Tuesday in the Blues' regular-season finale.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Remains out Wednesday

Texier (upper body) won't play against Edmonton on Wednesday, per Lou Korac of NHL.com. It will be the Blues' sixth straight game without Texier. He has six goals and 11 points in 31 appearances in 2024-25. Texier will be an option for a bottom-six spot once he's healthy.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Slated to sit Monday

Texier (upper body) isn't expected to play versus Winnipeg on Monday, per Chris Pinkert of the Blues' official site. Texier will miss his second straight game due to an upper-body issue. He has played in only four of the last 24 games because of injury, healthy scratches and an illness. Texier has six goals, 11 points, 50 shots on net and 20 hits across 31 appearances this season. Once healthy, it may be challenging for Texier to secure a spot in the lineup.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Suffers upper-body injury

Texier won't play against Colorado on Saturday due to an upper-body injury, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Texier has only appeared in four of the Blues' last 23 games, serving primarily as a healthy scratch this year. Even once the 25-year-old center is given the all-clear, he could struggle to break into St. Louis' lineup on a nightly basis. Mathieu Joseph figures to step into the lineup since both Texier and Dylan Holloway (lower body) are on the shelf.
